Angels Camp, CA....CAMPS Restaraunt was filled with a large section of the business community on January 27th. Local economic development guru Larry Cope delivered the Keynote on continuing to improve the economic climate here locally. Not only did CAMPs play host they also took home top honors as Business Of The Year. Many other businesses were honored as well in several different categories including: Entrepreneur of the Year to Salon Chic Boutique, Business of the Year to CAMPS, Small Business of the Year To Middleton's, Non-Profit Businesses of the Year To Common Grounds & Mind Matters, Community Action Awards to Gold Electric, Inc. & Foothills Drug Store and much more....

San Andreas, CA...Few people know that many baby and adult personal hygiene products marked as “flushable” or “disposable” can cause serious problems for sewage disposal systems. Blockages caused by these products can cost homeowners and public agencies thousands of dollars in repairs. The Calaveras County Water District is asking for the community’s help in keeping sewer lines clear. Toilet paper is designed to break down, so it can pass through pump stations and move easily through sewer lines. Many products marked as “flushable” and “disposable” do not break down and can cause clogs in pump stations and collection systems. While these products may be advertised as convenience items that can easily be disposed of in toilets, they should not be flushed...

Bear Valley, CA...Today Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Breezy. Highs 47 to 62 higher elevations...57 to 71 lower elevations. Prevailing south winds 5 to 15 mph with gusts to around 35 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 55 mph in the afternoon. Over ridges...prevailing southwest winds 20 to 35 mph...gusts up to 55 mph in the afternoon. Tonight Mostly cloudy. At lower elevations...a slight chance of rain in the evening...then a chance of rain after midnight. At higher elevations...a slight chance of rain in the evening...then a slight chance of rain and snow after midnight. Breezy. Lows 32 to 47 higher elevations...42 to 53 lower elevations. Snow level above 8000 feet. Prevailing south winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph increasing to 65 mph after midnight...

Copperopolis, CA...When Rick Morgan got the call to come to Saddle Creek he was thrilled. Morgan, who took over as General Manager of the resort last July, calls it the best golf course in Northern California after Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. A 30-year veteran of the California golf industry, Morgan had played the course numerous times prior to coming on board and was very impressed with the area. He previously spent ten years as general manager at Woodbridge Golf and Country Club near Lodi, overseeing the club’s transformation into a world-class facility with golf, swimming, tennis and full dining services...

Angels Camp, CA...Last Wednesday evening the Bret Harte Multi-Purpose room was filled with a good sized crowd engaging in community participaton on the future of traffic in the Angels Camp area. The group answered a complete battery of questions about what was important to them. This was the first of three meetings planned for the study.
