CAL FIRE Suspends Burn Permits in Tuolumne, Calaveras, Eastern Stanislaus and Eastern San Joaquin Counties |

San Andreas, CA...After a wet winter, warming temperatures are quickly drying out the abundant annual grass crop. The increasing fire danger posed by the high volume of dead grass and hotter, drier conditions in the region is prompting CAL FIRE to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within the State Responsibility Area of Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. This suspension takes effect at 8:00 a.m., Monday, June 11th, 2018 and bans all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris such as branches and leaves.

Pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code §3691 and §3692.4, the following conditions will, by operation of law, subject real property to the tax collector’s power to sell. 1. All property for which property taxes and assessments have been in default for five or more years. Note: The power to sell schedule for nonresidential commercial property is three or more years of tax default status, unless the county adopts, by ordinance or resolution, the five-year tax default schedule.

San Andreas, CA...It was another special evening in San Andreas as the Class of 2018 marched across the podium and into the next phase of their lives. It was impressive to see the 21 Valedictorians who all maintained a 4.0 or better in all of their 4 years. Most impressive at least to us was Jared Renberg. Not only was he one of the Valedictorians but also had perfect attendance from kindergarten all the way through high school. Health Care District Energized by Strong County Vote |

San Andreas, CA...During the last 3 years the Mark Twain Health Care District has worked continuously on behalf of all Calaveras County residents to develop the best solution to sustain and expand our only hospital and its many clinics. A major step forward was taken on January 24, 2018 when the Board unanimously approved a resolution supporting a new lease (Measure A) between Dignity Health and the Mark Twain Medical Center Corporation.

San Andreas, CA...By a just under 88% margin Calaveras County Voters approved Measure A which granted a long term lease and healthcare partnership with Dignity Health.
