Stockton Man's Name Released on Fatal Accident that Occurred in Jenny Lind

Jenny Lind, CA....The name of the deceased that unfortunately perished at the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Jenny Lind at Hwy 26 and Warren Road, has been released. His name is Steven M. Baca, 47 of Stockton, CA. The Full CHP release is enclosed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to this family during this very tragic time.....

Jenny Lind, CA...We just confirmed with Shirley at the CHP Office in San Andreas that they are unfortunately working a solo vehicle fatal accident right now at Hwy 26 and Warren Road. Some of their reporting systems are not working well this morning so information will be a little slow in coming out on this one. One of our viewers, let us know that it is one mile East of Warren Road and the vehicle is on it's side. More to follow. UPDATE #1 as of 10:40am....The roadway is now clear. We are getting more details now. .....

Detectives Break Up Burglary Ring

Calaveras County, CA...Five people are in custody following a month long investigation into a string of burglaries in the Mt. Ranch, San Andreas, Mokelumne Hill and Angels Camp areas of Calaveras County. In addition to the arrests detectives recovered a substantial amount of stolen property. The property included firearms, jewelry, construction tools, collectible sports cards and an all terrain vehicle.....

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce has been one of the driving forces in pushing a real Economic Development Agenda for the county. From the Economic Summit in July, to the approval of an economic development element to the Calaveras County General Plan yesterday at the Board of Supervisor's meeting, the Chamber has had a large part in this. The Chamber and Executive Director Diane Gray has been out in front leading the charge to make sure the county enhances it's position as a place to do business. We had the chance to spend a few minutes chatting with Diane Gray at the new and larger office that the Chamber will be moving...

San Andreas Sanitary District Will Meet on December 10th to Consider Establishment of a New Capacity Charge

San Andreas, CA....The San Andreas Sanitary District Board of Directors will hold a meeting on December 10th at 5pm. They will consider adopting the proposed capacity charge. Pursuant to Government Code Section 66016, Notice is hereby provided that the San Andreas Sanitary District (“District”) will be considering the establishment of a new capacity charge pursuant to Government Code Section 66013(b)(3). The capacity charge will apply only to new and future users to provide funding to either pay for future capacity.....

San Andreas, CA.....Last weekend elephant researcher, Dr. Joyce Poole visited Paws Animal Sanctuary in San Andreas for a demonstration on how elephants communicate through signals, gestures and expressions in their everyday living in the wild and habitat. Elephant Voices and PAWS joined together for a elephant benefit. "Elephant Voices focuses on elephant communication and welfare based on knowledge gained from decades of research by the Amboseli Elephant Research Project in one of Kenya's best known National Parks......

Planning Commission Moves Murphys Creek Estates Project Forward...Video Enclosed

San Andreas, CA.....At the Calaveras County Planning Commission meeting held on Thursday morning, it was voted that the Murphys Creek Estates Project move forward. This was also one of Planning Director, Bob Sellman's, last meetings to preside over as he retiring year end. Full video of the meeting is enclosed. SEI to Waste Connections Approved

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors approved the modification of SEI Solid Waste's County's Waste SEI Solid Waste Collection and Hauling Permit Agreement to Waste Connections. This agreement should clear the way for the sale of SEI to Waste Connections. This will consolidate the county's waste hauling services to fewer vendors. SEI provides much of the household pick up service and bulk box service along the Ebbetts Pass Corridor including Angels Camp. The county currently still has another vendor...
