Stockton, CA...The University of the Pacific Center for Business and Policy Research published a comprehensive study of the fiscal impact of regulated cannabis on the Calaveras County budget. The study demonstrates that regulating commercial cannabis is estimated to generate between $7.2 million and $15.9 million in net revenue for the County after accounting for additional County costs that would result from the cannabis regulation program. This net revenue represents between 12% and 25% of the County general fund and thus would make a substantial difference to the County’s efforts to resolve its structural deficit and improve a range of public services.
