San Andreas, CA...CHP has released information on a couple accidents that have happened the last few days. On Thursday, June 12th, a 57 year old Mountain Ranch Women lost control of her vehicle while in an apparently drugged state as she was heading West on Mountain Ranch Road. On Saturday, June 14th an 80 year old San Bruno Resident turned into the path of a 55 year old Turlock resident who was taken to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital with moderate injuries. There was a small 6 acre grass fire on Hwy 4 and Circle X this afternoon. We do a weekend recap, discuss Sheriff Downum's Press Release, Sheryl Crow, SNAC's Kayak Fest and more. Recently one of their ICU nurses, David Lei, was instrumental in saving the life of a gentleman on Southwest Flight 3775 last week. Arnold Mobility Plan Being Adopted by the CCOG on July 2nd~By Tyler Sommerset

The Arnold Mobility Plan being adopted by the Calaveras Council of Governments on Wednesday, July 2nd at 6:30pm. As you all know, this has been a year long process of looking at the State Route 4 corridor through Arnold. We have 31 potential projects listed in the document and look forward to taking the next steps. Next steps include submitting the document to the Planning Commission for review and recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for adoption and inclusion in the Environmental Analysis for the General Plan update....

San Andreas, CA....The Class of 2008 was 255 strong as they graduated last night. The stadium was filled to overflowing for all the festivities. In addition the the graduation last night Calaveras High School Principal Mike Merrill announced that he will be moving up to an administrative position in the district office and Ric Stitt the Current Vice Principal will be the new Calaveras High School principal next year. Calaveras Superintendent Jim Frost also mentioned during his comments that they are losing 32 staff members to retirement from the schools within the district. We would like to wish those staff members well as they move onto retirement. Many of the positions being filled are from past Calaveras High School Graduates. The Graduation is enclosed along with the list of Graduates.....

Possible Fatality in Mokelumne Hill Due to Quad Rollover...Updated with CHP Release with Deceased's Name

CHP is reporting a Possible Fatality off of Hwy 49, four miles north of San Andreas. A Quad has rolled over on a 66 year old male. Unfortunately The Calaveras County Coroner has been called and should be on scene now. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. We will release the name of the gentleman as soon as we receive an official Press Release from CHP. Update enclosed....

Mark Twain St. Josephs To Host Summer Health Career Camp

San Andreas, CA: Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital has announced they will be hosting a Summer Health Career Camp June 23rd to 27th at the hospital campus in San Andreas. The Camp is open to a maximum of twenty high school juniors and seniors who have a desire to gain more knowledge about careers in health care. The free week-long project includes a complete orientation and tour of the facility, three days of “job shadowing” with hospital staff, networking with hospital staff and leadership at special luncheons, CPR Certification class instruction and a special student/parent graduation luncheon on Friday...

For me, deadheading blooming plants in my garden is a dreaded task. I dislike it so much that I have often resorted to taking my electric hedge trimmer and giving the plants a quick topping. If you are one who finds it relaxing to remove spent flowers as you wander through your garden, you will be richly rewarded with a neat looking garden and a prolonged blooming period.....

Valley Springs, CA...We had the chance to attend the 8th Grade Graduation at Toyon Middle School this morning. There were over 270 of Calaveras County's Best and Brightest taking the next step into their education. Our video starts as the last of the graduates are filing in to take their seats....
