Twelfth Case of COVID-19 Confirmed in Calaveras County

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/17/2020 05:16 PM
San Andreas, CA...On Friday, April 17, 2020, Calaveras Public Health confirmed an additional case of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. This case is an older adult female from West Point. The individual is linked to a case already known to Calaveras Public Health. “This newest case is in a household contact to a known case of COVID-19. Transmission within a household setting is not uncommon, and does not represent community transmission of disease within the wider West Point area. We ask that the people in Calaveras County continue to do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19 into our communities,” said Dean Kelaita, MD, Calaveras County Health Officer. “If we remain committed to the actions that keep us healthy, that will help us block the transmission of COVID-19 and get through this unprecedented time.”

Sender's Market's Weekly Ad & Grocery Specials Through April 21st

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/16/2020 08:28 PM
Mountain Ranch, CA...In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you've got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered.

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/15/2020 11:13 AM
San Andreas, CA – April 15, 2020 – A special retreat room has been created at Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) to help lift the burden of stress experienced by staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. “A handful of our team members created a place for staff to rest, relax and recharge during this difficult time,” says Doug Archer, MTMC President and CEO. “Our Organization believes very strongly in the value of self-care. Everyone needs an outlet to connect within and/or with others; whether that is self-reflection, spirituality, faith in God and prayer, exercise, catching up with a friend or family member, and even just the enjoyment of a good book. This Respite Retreat makes that possible.”

And Then There Were Eleven as Two New Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Calaveras County

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/15/2020 04:39 PM
San Andreas, CA...On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, Calaveras Public Health confirmed two additional cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. The two cases are unrelated. The first case is an adult male from Valley Springs. The exposure to COVID-19 has been determined to be linked to a case already known by Calaveras Public Health. The second case is an older adult male from West Point. The source of the exposure regarding this individual is currently being investigated. “We should expect additional cases of novel coronavirus among Calaveras residents before the outbreak begins to subside. Please know that the actions you take today are the best way for us to slow the spread of COVID-19 into Calaveras communities,” said Dean Kelaita, MD, Calaveras County Health Officer. “In order to keep our numbers low it is important for people to limit interactions with those outside of their households.”
