San Andreas, CA...Following Governor Gavin Newsom’s briefing yesterday, the City of Angels Camp, Calaveras County Economic & Community Development, Public Health, and Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce (Business Leadership Collaborative) staff are working to provide assistance with disseminating the State’s Phase 2 business reopening guidelines. The State’s Business Resilience Roadmap can be found HERE and contains industry specific guidance and checklists for businesses reopening safely.
Update on Vehicle Pursuit Involving Covid-19 Released Inmate

Valley Springs, CA...On May 8th, 2020, Calaveras County Deputies arrested Brian Dehart in San Andreas. Due to the COVID $0 bail order still in effect, Dehart was set to be booked and released back into the public. Deputies believed Dehart posed a significant danger to the public due to the multiple pending cases against him and the recent vehicle pursuit. The threat to public safety caused the deputies to file a request for bail increase (PC1269) thus, forcing Dehart to post bail prior to his release. The order to increase bail was approved by the Superior Court Judge Healy. Dehart remains in the Calaveras County Jail with a $350,000 Bail.

San Andreas, CA...Dignity Health MTMC asked the Rotary Clubs of Calaveras County to assist them in putting the signs they had built in different locations throughout the county. They started today with members of the San Andreas Rotary Club and the Mark Twain Medical Center Maintenance Personnel placing the sign at the corner of Hwy. 49 and Pool Station Road which will remain there for the next five days. Then with the help of the Arnold, Angels Murphys and West Calaveras Rotary Clubs the sign will be moved to different locations throughout the county, coming soon to a location near you... Keep an eye out for it. Thank you to all the Heroes working throughout Calaveras County!

New Lodi Testing Site for COVID-19 Open to All Calaveras Residents

Lodi, CA...People living in Calaveras County can now schedule a COVID-19 test at a new testing center in Lodi. The state of California teamed up with OptumServe to open 80 new testing sites across the state to expand and offer more testing. Individuals will be billed through their health insurance. Tests will be paid by the state for individuals without health insurance. Copays or deductibles will not apply to this visit. No fees will be collected at the testing site. While priority is given to those who are high risk, everyone is welcome to schedule testing by going online to https://lhi.care/covidtesting or by calling OptumServe at (888) 634-1123. Joint Country & City Effort to Provide Covid-19 Business Recovery Support

San Andreas, CA...City and County Economic & Community Development, Public Health, and Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce staff are working collaboratively to develop a tool kit aimed at helping businesses to reopen safely when appropriate. The tool kit will a “living” document that will evolve as regulatory circumstances change. The “ReThink, ReOpen and ReBound” campaign will include a comprehensive guide for small businesses that focuses on re-opening guidelines, adaptive mitigation procedures, planning for a safe reopening, and printable posters.
