San Andreas, CA... Francis Gerard Oneto passed away Saturday, June 8th in San Andreas, after a short illness. He was 9l. Mr. Oneto was born Feb. 7, 1922 in Melones, Ca. to Frank and Annie (Cuneo) Oneto, and raised on the Oneto Ranch at Dry Creek, near San Andreas. He was a 4th generation life-long resident of Calaveras County, and a direct descendent of the pioneering Oneto, Cuneo and Gomes families, who came to the county in the early 1850'S...

San Andreas, CA....San Andreas Community Covenant Church invites children to a castle adventure set in merry old England. “We have an exciting summer program planned for children in our community” says Laurie Giannini, VBS Coordinator. “This summer we will be transforming the church gym into Soncastle Faire, where children discover the joy of using their talents to serve the King of Kings. We will feature music, crafts, games, Bible study and snacks-all of the things that make Vacation Bible School so popular for children and their parents. On top of that we will be helping children discover their unique abilities and learn how to use them to serve God”.

Angels Camp, CA...Philanthropic Consultant, Paul Stein accepted this generous donation from Mark Luster, Community Relations Manager for Sierra Pacific Industries Foundation. Mr. Luster states, ““At Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) we believe that through our contribution to The Calaveras Community Foundation, we can support the vital role it plays in this community by providing active and positive programs for youth, seniors and other residents of our county.”

San Andreas, CA...Wednesday night the Calaveras High Stadium was filled with family, friends and well wishers. The class of 2013 accepted their awards, accolades and diplomas and marched into the next phase of their lives. With every graduation we attend we are reminded again what a special place our little corner of the world can be. So highlights...78% of the class plan on attending college, 8% will be serving their county in the military and much more. We have higher quality video now below and photos as well. SAN ANDREAS, CA – June 13, 2013- Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) will be holding its 3rd Annual Summer Health Fair on Saturday, June 29th, from 8am to Noon at La Contenta Plaza in Valley Springs. Over forty community health related service groups will participate in this community-wide event. A wealth of information will be available on topics such as senior health services, nutrition, fitness and diabetes. Schools Help Families In Need |

San Andreas, CA... Calaveras Unified School District held a district-wide food drive for The Resource Connection Food Bank during the month of May. 1,271 pounds of food was brought into the Food Bank from the CUSD schools. “We so appreciate the giving from the school community to families in need,” said Jeannie Hayward, Food Bank Director, “all of this food will go right back out to our network of 14 pantries throughout Calaveras County and to those in our community who come to the Food Bank for food. During the month of May, 1070 families living in Calaveras County walked through the doors of the Food Bank in need of food. This food drive helps us out in so many ways. Families and faculty from the CUSD school district donated tuna, peanut butter, pasta, canned vegetables and more. We want to say “Thank You” to all who donated food.” ...
