Posted by: thepinetree on 06/05/2017 08:42 AM
Angels Camp, CA...It was another great group of now young men and women that received their diplomas last Friday night. One of the things that always impresses us about our local schools is the commitment to the kids and our communities that the staff of our schools displays. There is invariably one or two students receiving their diplomas from a mother or father on staff of the school. For much of the staff teaching or serving at our local schools is much more than just a job. It is part of their families future and also legacy. Below are photos and video of the class. For this year most of the group photos have been uploaded at full resolution as well so when you click on many of the photos you will get a much larger image. Congratulations to the Bret Harte Class of 2017 and may you make your dreams for a great future come true!!

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/03/2017 11:50 PM
Murphys, CA...We pay more for our health care -- in some cases, twice as much as countries like France. Is it worth it? There can be no argument, however you want to analyze health care delivery and the value of outcomes, the American health care system is significantly more expensive than any other comparable system in the world. The next nearest country to the United States, in terms of health care spending, is Norway which spends $6567 per capita. In other words, the U.S. spends far, far more than other nations -- and on a few very important measures is performing nowhere as well.
