Avery, CA...Vallecito Union School District (VUSD) invites the community to attend the ceremony to dedicate the Avery Middle School Gymnasium in honor of Tom Eising to recognize his 50 years of service to local students as a teacher, principal, basketball coach, and school board member. The ceremony will take place Wednesday, November 16 at 4:45 pm in the Avery Middle School Gymnasium.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Today sunshine will take the drivers seat and bring beauty across Sierra as the recent storm system which blanketed BV with 36" of new snow shows its wonderland face. With a high of 32F the air will feel crisp today coupled with an Northeast wind from 5-8mph. Some clouds will arrive later this evening as surface gradients lessen and a lite northerly flow develops. A return of snowfall may occur Saturday as that system will impact the Northern portion of the state before taking a more southerly flow into Central California. Snowfall for this system looks to remain less than an inch so not much to report on there.

This “soft” opening will provide ~10km of groomed trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. While services will be limited, the early-season snow should offer excellent conditions.

Murphys, CA...The Angels-Murphys Rotary had another amazing shoe drive this year! They collected 344 boxes, 2,588 pairs of shoes collected, 3,197 lbs saved from the landfill. Thanks to the students Avery Middle School and Bret Harte High School for the help.

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County Government Center Halloween Spooktacular 10/29/2022. Every year departments at the Calaveras County Government Center put on an amazing Halloween Spooktacular. This event raises money and donations for their Stone Soup award with proceeds going to the local food bank.
