Washington, DC...In our times of greatest need, Americans have always turned to prayer to help guide us through trials and periods of uncertainty. As we continue to face the unique challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, millions of Americans are unable to gather in their churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, and other houses of worship. But in this time we must not cease asking God for added wisdom, comfort, and strength, and we must especially pray for those who have suffered harm or who have lost loved ones. I ask you to join me in a day of prayer for all people who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and to pray for God’s healing hand to be placed on the people of our Nation.
Collaborative Decision Initiates Calaveras School Closures Till April 6th

Angels Camp, CA...Today the Calaveras County Superintendent of Schools Scott Nanik coordinated a conference call with Calaveras County School District Superintendents and the Calaveras County Public Health. Based upon the recommendation of Public Health all Calaveras County schools will be closed immediately with hopes of reopening on April 6, 2020. Student, staff and community safety is our biggest concern.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Is everyone ready for some epic pow riding this weekend and into next week? Snow is currently falling as we’ve picked up 1″ so far ahead of the copious amounts that look to be on the way. 8-12″ is possible today with a high of 32F and winds out of the SSW in the 20’s with gusting into the 30’s. Tonight 17-23″ is possible, Sunday 16-22″, Sunday night 10-14″ Monday 8-12″, Monday night 4-8″ and continued snow shower activity through Thursday at the current model runs. Snowfall elevations could reach down to 2500′ by Monday morning with 5000′ being the average for the next 2 days. That’s 63-91″ by Monday….followed by snow shower activity all week long. Stay tuned and I’ll give all ya’ll some more 411 as we get closer. It’s a great time to ski/ride as conditions around the resort are really good. Don’t forget to check out our Lifts and Trails page Daily for projected operations. Come check out our “Pure Mtn Fun” as we have lots of it going on!

Bear Valley, CA...In the winter we open the Meadow Cafe located 350 yards from the trailhead. Skiers, snowshoers, and pedestrians access the cafe on groomed trails and enjoy “alpine cuisine” on the deck or cozy indoor seating. New for the 2019/2020 winter season, a special Après-Ski menu is served Thursday through Saturday from 3:30-6:30pm.

Today, I’d like to provide an update to the American people on several decisive new actions we’re taking in our very vigilant effort to combat and ultimately defeat the coronavirus. We’ve been working very hard on this. We’ve made tremendous progress. When you compare what we’ve done to other areas of the world, it’s pretty incredible. A lot of that had to do with the early designation and the closing of the borders.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Is everyone ready for some epic pow riding this weekend and into next week? The high today ahead of the approaching storm will be around 47F with NE winds into the teens. The oncoming system has surely taken a more intense precipitation value in the last 12hr model runs. Things look to pick up tonight as a warm front moves over the area bringing a mix of precipitation by 11pm then turning to snow as the colder air behind the front starts to effect the elevations. 2-4″ is expected tonight with 6-10″ slated for Saturday, 10-14″ Saturday night, 10-14″ Sunday, 9-13″ Sunday night and another 6-10″ come Monday! Snowfall elevations could reach down to 2500′. That’s 43-65″ by Monday….followed by snow shower activity all week long. Stay tuned and I’ll give all ya’ll some more 411 as we get closer.
