You will have fun learning a little more about navigation as you discover scavenger clues on the gorgeous grounds of Aspen Meadows Pack Station. Beat the challenging but fun scavenger hunt and be comforted knowing your dad can find his way around a little better. Stay longer and enjoy one of Aspen Meadow's horseback riding trips together to complete a wonderful afternoon with Good Ol Dad (not part of event ticket price). It is Saturday, June 19th and goes from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Sonora, CA...Please join us for our Summer Christmas Fair 2021! After being postponed this winter due to the coronavirus, we are back! Booths will include Jewelry, Religious items, Crafts, Christmas Decor, and our ever-popular White Elephant booth. Food will include our famous Spanish community’s giant lunch Burritos for $8.00 each and our yummy, sweet bake sale. Raffle will include a large screen TV, stained glass cross, and many more exciting items. Need not be present to win! Tickets for the raffle will be: $1 each, $5 for 6, $10 for 13 and $20 for 30.

Anderson, CA...Due to the extreme drought conditions and risk of wildfire, Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) is closing its California forestlands to public access. This closure will begin Monday, June 21, and remain in effect until further notice.

Flex Alert for Possible Power Outages Extended a Second day Through Friday! |

Folsom, CA...The California Independent System Operator (ISO) has extended its Flex Alert a second day to Friday, asking consumers to again conserve electricity during the evening as California and states across the country work to relieve stress on electric grids due to extreme heat.

Amador County, CA... Amador County Public Health reports 12 more cases of COVID-19 since last Tuesday’s update, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 1,821. The new cases include 6 males and 6 females, 7 aged 18-49, 3 aged 50-64, 2 age 65 and above; 4 residing in Ione, 2 living in Jackson, and 6 living in Plymouth/surrounding areas.

close the intersection of Irishtown Road at State Route 88 to replace a drainage culvert beneath the roadway.

Murphys, CA...120 Stomp Teams will take the stage in Murphys, CA for our annual fundraising event. Returning teams get 1st access to register the week of July 5th and remaining spaces open the week of July 19th. For now....Save the Date for Saturday, October 2nd 9:00-6:00, get your team ready, pick out your costumes and begin to plan a wonderful weekend in Calaveras Wine Country during our harvest season. While we held our 1st Virtual Grape Stomp last year due to the pandemic, we are thrilled to be back at the park for our 28th annual event. This fundraiser supports our high school scholarship program, local parks, and community organizations.

Several local Businesses took home honors and Mark Twain Medical Center took home the top award. From the Calaveras Chamber..."Mark Twain Medical Center receiving the Business of the Year award for 2020. We are so grateful to all the heroes of MTMC who kept our community safe, and cared for our loved ones in such scary times.
