San Andreas, CA...Meet Samantha, a lovely white and brown tabby adult about 3 years old. She arrived at the shelter as a stray and sadly no one has come looking for her. A big gal tipping the scales at nearly 12 pounds, Samantha has an easygoing personality and thrives on attention. She enjoys being brushed and shows great promise as being a sweet lap kitty. She is very friendly and always eager to meet new people, gently head butting one’s arm or leg to collect a pat or a scratch behind the ears. We feel Samantha will make a wonderful companion or family cat in most any household where she will be showered with the love and care she deserves.

" A Dinner To Dye For" Fundraising Event Coming in August |

Sonora, CA...Resiliency Village To Stage First Major Fundraiser at its Permanent Home in Tuolumne County, August 21, 5 pm. California-based nonprofit Resiliency Village announced today that they are holding a major public event on-site at its recently acquired property in the Big Hill area of Tuolumne County. The benefit event is being billed “Let Resiliency Village Transport You To Another Time & Place: ‘A Dinner to Dye For,’.” The theme is designed to whisk you back to the 1970s where tie-dyed apparel was high fashion (time-period dress optional for attendees). There will be a dinner, catered by Colette Such and Kathleen Lorimer, a tour of the grounds, and a mystery theater experience featuring local artists Maryann Curmi, Ellen Stewart, followed by live music from Clan Dyken.

Arnold, CA...We originally posted this for Father's in 2006. My father would turn 105 this year if he were here today. This poem was my father's favorite. This one is dedicated to my Father...Jay S. Hamilton. Dad was born in November of 1916 and died in May of 1991 of a Glioblastoma brain tumor. His life saw deep tragedy but he always rose above it. He was born in a house in rural Oklahoma with no electricity or running water. His Mom burned to death when he was 9 years old from a kerosene lantern fire while he was at home.....

Arnold, CA...The new Bistro Creamery held their Grand Opening today in Cedar Center. Arnold now has its own ice cream shoppe to cater to the sweet tooth in all of us. They are Open 12-8PM Mon-Thur, 11-8pm Fri-Sun. 209-813-7233. This little shop is located in Cedar Center in the center of town just across from The BISTRO. Come taste the sweetness and enjoy ice cream by the scoop, milk shakes, malts, sundaes and splits. Our friendly staff is so excited to serve the families and visitors of the Arnold area!

We feature small batches of limited release wines handcrafted from high quality grapes grown in Calaveras and Amador Counties. We produce about 2,500 cases of wine per year, specializing in Zinfandels and Rhone varietals.
