Murphys, CA...Celebrating the 27th Annual Calaveras Grape Stomp - the Oldest & Largest in California. On September 27th Stomp Teams from across California competed in the first of its kind, "Virtual Grape Stomp:Backyard Edition" during pandemic. The event took place online using Zoom Webinar from 11:00-3:30 with an Awards Ceremony at 4:30. Stomp Kits were picked up at the Wine Info Center in Murphys, CA and included a half wine barrel bucket, 25 pounds of Syrah grapes from event sponsor, Aloria Vineyards, Measuring Supplies, Tasting Passes & Surprises. Teams decorated their backyards, got costumes ready, practiced mad stomping skills and tested smartphones or tablets to join the Zoom Online Event. This year’s event was also a tribute to the late Steve Collum, lead Vineyard Manager in Calaveras Wine Country and owner of Vineyard Concepts. “Steve was a significant part of the Calaveras Wine Region and brought an innovative approach to vineyard management as he also designed his own vineyard cover - sun blocking solution”, comments Sandra Hess, Executive Director of the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance. “Steve helped many of our winery and growers members achieve their goals and this year’s Grape Sponsor, Aloria Vineyards received their sustainable vineyard certification thanks to Steve. He will always be remembered for his generous heart and care for this wine community”.
Murphys, CA...The 2020 Ironstone Concours d Elegance because of COVID-19 was turned into the Ironstone Concours Tour. While the normal Concours can have over 400 vehicles and has grown into the largest Concours d Elegance in the US the tour was limited to 100 vehicles and was not open to public spectators. It was a great event even with the Coronavirus restrictions and allowed automobile enthusiasts to get their rolling works of art out of the garage and get a bit of excersise. At the end of the tours entrants were able to cross the stage, collect their ribbons and participate in a photo op. We have photos and raw video footage below...

Arnold, CA...PSPS Outages Continue for Many Communities East of Hwy 49. Along the Hwy 4 Corridor the PSPS Outages were moved up to just above Arnold starting at Big Trees and continuing all the way up through Bear Valley. Along the Hwy 49 Corridor in Calaveras Country Mountain Ranch surrounding areas, West Point and most of Hwy 26 above Mokelumne Hill. In Amador County most of the communities east of Hwy 49 are affected. Tuolumne County is entirely PSPS Free.
