Oliver is Your Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week!

Posted by: News_Desk on 02/09/2021 11:57 AM
San Andreas, CA... Meet Oliver, a shorthaired brown tabby adult with an A+ personality. Super friendly and affectionate, Oliver has yet to meet a human he didn’t like. Although estimated to be five years old, Oliver still has a lot of kitten playfulness and enjoys chasing anything that moves, especially his “feather-on-a-string” toy. Oliver arrived at the shelter as a stray and only has one eye. Examined by a veterinarian who believes his injury happened long ago, it has healed thoroughly with no further medical attention necessary. Due to his limited vision, Oliver would do best as an indoor kitty though in a lively household where he can receive the love and attention he deserves. He would make a terrific family pet, too, since he is especially good with children.

Sheriff Implement’s Family Emergency Preplan Program

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/09/2021 06:27 PM
San Andreas, CA...Emergencies involving lost or missing persons are understandably a stressful and traumatic occurrence. When the lost person has been diagnosed with special needs or disabilities, the stress level can be immense and at times overwhelming. Recognizing this, Sheriff DiBasilio will be implementing a new “Family Emergency Plan” program. The program focuses on gathering critical information prior to a lost person event. Before an emergency happens, families, loved ones and caregivers can sit down to gather information and complete the Developmental Disability and Special Needs Emergency Packet. Once completed, a copy of the plan could be kept in your car, at home, or shared with anyone (schools, adult day programs and daycare providers) who provides care or supervision for your child or dependent adult.
