Arnold, CA...You are invited to the American Heritage Girls Annual Registration Party! This Sunday, September 19th at 2:30pm at Linebaugh Park. Please join American Heritage Girls Troop CA0016 for our Live Free registration party. This is a chance to learn more about our American Heritage Girls Troop, register, fellowship and play games. At this Live Free party we will start collecting items for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. For every item your family donates, you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes. There is no limit to how many raffle tickets you can enter. Donation items suggested are crayons (24 pack), pencils, erasers, index cards, wash cloths, bar soap, tooth brushes, dental floss, combs/brushes, small musical instruments and small toys (no war-related toys, please)

Evacuation Order Update: The following Evacuation Orders have been downgraded to Evacuation Warnings in Amador County: Zones 4A and 5A. South of Highway 88 along the Amador/El Dorado County line from Dufrene Road, due east to the Amador/Alpine County line and from the Amador/Alpine County line north to Hwy 88. The following Evacuation Warnings have been lifted in Amador County: Zones 4B and 5B. South of Dufrene Road due east to the Amador/Alpine County line. West of the of the Amador/Alpine County line and north of the Amador/Calaveras County line. Concluding with a western border of Panther Creek Road. The following Evacuation Warnings have been lifted in Alpine County: Zone 19 and 20. Highway 88 Picket’s Junction south to Kirkwood and the Alpine/Amador County line. Wilderness and forested areas south of 88 and west of Blue Lakes.

Sutter Creek, CA...Amador Water Agency Directors declared a Stage 1 - Water Alert, effective immediately, at their regular Board meeting Thursday, triggering conservation requirements for water customers targeting a 20 percent reduction in use.

Forest Service Ending Regional Closure Order Two Days Early; Five Forests to Remain Closed Under Local Orders

Vallejo, CA...Sept. 14, 2021. The USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region will end the regional closure order affecting National Forests in California at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 15, two days prior to the original end date of Sept. 17. However, forest-wide closures will remain in place and be extended until midnight on September 22nd on the Los Padres, Angeles, San Bernardino, and Cleveland National Forests in Southern California due to local weather and fire factors, as well as a temporary strain on firefighting resources supporting large fires in other areas of the state.
Stanislaus National Forest Reopens September 16, Enhanced Fire Restrictions Remain in Place

Sonora, CA...September 14, 2021— The USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region will lift the regional closure order affecting National Forests in California at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 15. A key factor in the decision was an anticipated increase in available firefighting resources to California due to fire danger lessening in other areas of the country.
