Bay Area Rotary Club Sponsors, Creates, Debuts Film about Family Who Hid Jews During Nazi Occupation

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/09/2023 03:26 PM
Mokelumne Hill, CA...Mokelumne Hill resident Irene Perbal knows a thing or two about history, having lived through nearly 90 years of it so far; and a portion of it during one of humanity’s darkest periods. It was 1940s Amsterdam. You could trust no one. The city was full of those whose hearts were with the resistance, but also was crawling with Nazi collaborators. “Everyone knew that whoever helped a Jew would be treated like one,” Perbal said.

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/09/2023 07:22 PM
Sonora, CA...Tuolumne County has had confirmed cases of the deadly virus: distemper. Puppies and dogs most often become infected through airborne exposure (through sneezing or coughing) to the virus from an infected dog or wild animal. The virus can also be transmitted by shared food and water bowls and equipment. All dogs are at risk but puppies younger than four months old and dogs that have not been vaccinated against canine distemper are at increased risk of acquiring the disease.

Have You Seen Fieyo? Help Him Return Home!

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/08/2023 12:05 AM
Murphys, CA...As a resident on Sheep Ranch Rd in Murphys, I was hoping someone might have seen my sisters cat. His name is Fieyo. He is a short haired, orange / striped kitty with a white tummy and chest (see photos). He’s about a year old. He went missing around a week and a half ago, before the storm started. He’s a outside/inside cat. We used to go out in the morning, he’d stick around the top of our hill, and then he’d come back for food. It started raining, and he never came home. We’re hoping someone might have seen him or picked him up and got him out of the rain. We’ve looked on our property and no luck. I’m just trying to get the word out and hopefully find him for my sister. She really misses him.
