Murphys, CA... Murphys Irish Day Booth & Parade Info. Mark Your Calendar for Saturday, March 18, 2023 – 10am to 5pm. A Celebration of the Irish! Free Admission – Rain or Shine. We will be accepting only a limited number of vendors again this year, so we encourage you to get your applications back to us by mid-January when we start evaluating applications and confirming booth reservations. We hope to see many of our local artisans, artists, and food vendors and encourage anybody with unique artwork, handcrafted works, fun food, or Celtic-themed items to consider joining us. Remember, we do not allow manufactured-for-sale or factory-produced items at this event.

Columbia, CA... February 11th, 2023, 1:00 PM-4:00 PM. Every second Saturday of the month see inside special exhibits, stores and residences not regularly open to the public. Docents in period attire provide demonstrations and history of the times for visitors. If you’re lucky, the gambling table will be set up on the boardwalk for everyone to try their hand at betting against a mining camp gambler. Free Admission. Covid guidelines in effect.

To-Go Tri Tip Dinner Fundraiser

Tuolumne, CA... Tuolumne Park and Recreation District is hosting a To-Go Tri-tip Dinner to raise funds for an Outdoor Theater and Bike Park. Tickets are now on sale until February 15th. 2 and 4 person meals consisting of tri tip slices, roasted potatoes, dinner rolls and salad can be purchased with cash or check in the TPRD office or via Venmo at Tuolumneparkandrecreation. 2 person dinners are $40 and 4 person dinners are $75. Meals can be picked up at the Tuolumne Veterans Memorial Hall on February 24th 4:30-6:30pm. All proceeds will be used towards TPRD projects and the activities associated with them.

Sonora , CA... Join us on February 11th for the 15th annual county Poetry Out Loud competition that will be held at the Red Church in Sonora from 2:00 PM-4:30 PM. Free Admission! Eight participating students from local high schools will compete for prizes and the opportunity to advance to the state finals. Three schools are participating this year: Sonora, Tioga, and Summerville High Schools. State winners from all over the country will compete in the POL National Finals in Washington D.C. Arnold, CA...NWS Sacramento has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.. Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 15 inches above 4000 feet with 15 to 28 inches above 6000 feet. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. The Detailed forecast for West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada. Today, Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Highs 36 to 51 higher elevations...49 to 59 lower elevations. Prevailing southeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Tonight, Mostly cloudy. Lows 21 to 36 higher elevations...34 to 44 lower elevations. Prevailing south winds 5 to 15 mph with gusts to around 35 mph...except south 10 to 30 mph over ridges.

Amador Sheriff's Deputies Help Elderly Couple Avoid Possible Tragic Outcome

Pioneer, CA...On February 1, 2023, at approximately 8:58pm, we received a call requesting a welfare check on an elderly couple in the Pioneer area. The concerned caller advised the elderly couple was not answering their phone and a car horn could be heard sounding from the couple’s residence. Responding deputies located the female inside her vehicle and learned that she was unable to get out due to the icy conditions of her driveway. Additionally, deputies discovered that the male had attempted to make it inside their residence, but he had slipped and fallen due to the ice.
