Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown, USA)..Participating in the Saddle Queen Scholarship Competition is Kyndal Castle, Macy Liotta, Savannah Stinnett, Madison Wolfman and Delaney Grace. The young women will be competing for several scholarships as well as special awards. The competition is directed by McKensey and Tammy Middleton. The competition is sponsored by Gold Electric.

Sonora, CA...The Bureau of Reclamation announces the third annual spring photography contest at New Melones Lake. The contest is only open to amateur photographers and the deadline for submissions is June 3, 2019. The photo contest has three categories: landscape, flora/fauna, and recreation. Participants may submit one photograph per category. All photographs must be from the New Melones Lake Recreation Area, taken in 2019, and must be in their original, un-edited form.

Sonora, CA...79 year old Alice Hobbs returned home. From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."Update 11 PM: Alice was located nearly 1.5 miles away from her Elizabeth Lane address at a home on Belleview Road. She had a scratch on her leg and was confused as to where she was going or why she left home. Alice along with her sweet dog Carmelita were taken back to their home to be reunited with family. Thank you to everyone who shared this post and assisted our personnel in searching. We have an amazing community who always comes together in a time of need.

San Andreas, CA...“Saving Lives from the Inside Out” is the topic for the March 26 workshop which is the latest in Mark Twain Medical Center’s (MTMC) “A Plan 4 Me” series. The session begins at 11 a.m. in the MTMC Education Center with a free lunch to follow. “A Plan 4 Me” workshops provide access to information that can help to address everyday situations, as well as identifying and preventing health issues. It also creates opportunities for MTMC to showcase staff experience and depth of knowledge.
OHV Enthusiasts Encouraged to Join Stanislaus National Forest at Open House April 4

Sonora, CA...The Stanislaus National Forest is hosting an open house to gather feedback and answer questions from OHV enthusiasts on April 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Forest Supervisor’s office, 19777 Greenley Road, Sonora. The forest submitted preliminary applications for the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division 2019/ 2020 grant cycle. The applications to the OHMVR Division include a ground operations grant for maintenance and repair of routes and trails, including OHV facilities, a law enforcement grant to support OHV law enforcement activities across the forest and a forest-wide restoration grant to repair areas impacted by unauthorized OHV activity.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! St Patrick’s Day is upon and well……so are some amazing conditions on the Ski Hill. With a high of 45F projected today and ESE winds up to 8mph it looks to be another stellar day of skiing/riding. Monday will also be sunny before Tuesday’s arrival of a wee bit o’ snow in the 4-7″ range by the time it pushes out late Wednesday. A 2nd system will arrive Thursday into Saturday and bring another chance of snowfall but totals for that system are still in flux as the model runs look forward. Conditions are amazing currently and with 451″ of snow so far this season we look to have awesome conditions well into spring. Our closing date is currently April 21st.
