Tuolumne County, CA...Crews are responding to a two vehicle collision at Hwy 108 and Via Este in Sonora. Please travel with caution in the area as Via Este is blocked. UPDATED to possible fatality. More to come as we receive. Update as of 10:38am, we just spoke with Jamestown CHP office, this is a confirmed single fatality. Because of the fatality, crews will be on scene for the next few hours. Via Este remains blocked. (Update as of 11:47am...CHP is now showing the roadway as clear...

Cause of Butte Mountain Structure Fire Under Investigation According to CAL Fire

Murphys, CA....We have just received the official CAL Fire report on this morning's structure fire that occurred at 2441 Butte Mountain Road in Murphys. The house is a total loss and the fire also spread to 1/4 acre of brush. This fire also claimed the lives of two people. See CAL Fire report enclosed....

Copperopolis, CA....In 2002 the residents of Copperopolis cast their vote in large numbers in favor of a $75.00 Paramedic Tax per household to enable our Copperopolis Fire District to provide Paramedic Service to the residents of Copperopolis. (Previously Paramedic service was not available locally.) At the inception of the Paramedic program the Paramedics were part time Paramedics, rotating to create coverage 24/7.....

Illegal Marijuana Grow Located in Fricot City....Street Value Estimated at $2,789,000

Fricot City, CA....On Friday 09/25/09 the Calaveras County Sheriff Department served a search warrant on a property belonging to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). This illegal marijuana grow site was located after an aerial observation flight of the area. A total of 2789 marijuana plants were eradicated, the total street value of the eradicated marijuana is about $2,789,000. The....

Calaveras County, CA....On 09/25/09 the Calaveras County Sheriff Department obtained and served a search warrant for a property located at 9040 Sheep Ranch Rd. in Sheep Ranch. The search warrant was obtained after members of the Calaveras Narcotics Enforcement Unit (CNEU) located a large number of marijuana plants were located on the property. Three Hispanic males that were located inside the marijuana grow site were arrested and booked in the County Jail. The three Hispanic males were booked for cultivation and sales.....

Sonora, CA....A 4 1/2 acre grass fire occurred on September 27th, 2009 at 17566 Lime Kiln Road in Sonora. Cause is under investigation according to CAL Fire. Copperopolis, CA....On September 3, 2009, Calaveras County Deputies were called to investigate of an incident of inappropriate contact that occurred between a fifteen year old minor female and a thirty-three year old male. The case was forwarded to investigations after which, the suspect (S) Inocencio, Luis was contacted at his place of employment where he was placed under arrest without incident for lewd and lascivious acts with a minor....
