Juvenile Arrested for Attempted Murder in Mokelumne Hill |

Mokelumne Hill...On December 22, 2019 at about 5:25 PM the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a victim suffering from a gunshot wound at the Mokelumne Hill Community Park (end of Main St). When deputies arrived they found one victim of a gunshot wound. Deputies learned the victim had planned to meet the suspect at the park and that this was not a random incident.

Four Arrested During a Search Warrant in Jenny Lind |

Jenny Lind, CA...On December 20, 2019 at about 8:00 PM the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant in the 8000 Block of Greer Rd in Jenny Lind. The warrant was part of a continuing investigation of a robbery that occurred on December 18th, 2019 in Valley Springs.

Calaveras High School Briefly Placed on Lockdown |

San Andreas, CA...On December 20, 2019, at about 10:45 AM the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Calaveras High School staff regarding an alleged student who was possibly armed with a firearm. School Administrators quickly placed the school on lockdown and began checking for threats. The juvenile in question was removed from their class and immediately placed in the school office.

Valley Springs Women Arrested on Burglary, Drug & Weapons Charges |

Valley Springs, CA..On December 13, 2019 at about 4:45 PM Calaveras County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of Lime Creek Rd., Valley Springs for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, deputies located suspect Lisa Brandt (55 years old, Valley Springs) on the property. Brandt was found to be in possession of several items which had been removed from inside of the victim’s residence. Additionally, Brandt was found to be in possession of 13.9 grams of methamphetamine, 8.8 grams of marijuana, and an illegal “Billy club” (wooden club).

Calaveras Sheriff Warns of Recent Telephone Scam |

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a telephone scam involving a person representing themselves as a deputy. According to victims, they received a call from person stating they were a deputy or a member of the Sheriff’s Office and needed to talk to them about “an ongoing legal matter”. The person then attempts to solicit personal information and in some cases the suspect leaves a number to call back. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that we do not solicit personal information over the phone. If you’re contacted by anyone you believe is falsely representing themselves as a law enforcement officer you are urged to call the Sheriff’s Office to make report. Below are some helpful tips to avoid being the victim of a telephone scam.
