Two in Custody, Investigation on-Going for Robbery In Columbia

Columbia, CA....On December 7, 2008, at approximately 9 PM, Deputies were called to the Columbia College Apartments for a reported Robbery. When Deputies arrived, they spoke with a Victim who said four subjects came to his apartment to purchase cigarettes. When the victim went to get the cigarettes, one of the suspects grabbed the victim and demanded his money. Another suspect brandished a handgun at the victim. The suspects took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.....

Domestic Violence Arrest in Sonora

Sonora, CA.....On December 8, 2008 at approximately 10:30 PM, Deputy Derocher, Brouillette and Champlin were dispatched to a reported assault involving a firearm. When Deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim. The victim reported that her estranged husband returned to her residence and assaulted her and then threatened her with a gun. Columbia, CA....On December 9, 2008, Deputy Gempler and Cpl. Nikiforuk responded to a reported assault at a residence on Woods Creek Way, Columbia. Upon their arrival, they located the victim who had been assaulted. The victim said he was assaulted by one of the suspects and the suspects took his guitars from his residence......

Furlough forces Closure of the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office during the Holiday’s

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office will be closed starting Wednesday December 24th through Friday January 2nd. This is due to the furlough process that is being implemented throughout the County due to budgetary constraints. The services that will be affected are Civil/Coroner, Public Records Request, Concealed Weapons Permits, Administration and other non-emergency services.......

CHP is reporting a solo vehicle has overturned at Burson Road in Burson. Emergency crews are responding. We will keep you updated as needed. There did end up being a moderate injury to an Ione woman. CHP Release enclosed.

Detectives Break Up Burglary Ring

Calaveras County, CA...Five people are in custody following a month long investigation into a string of burglaries in the Mt. Ranch, San Andreas, Mokelumne Hill and Angels Camp areas of Calaveras County. In addition to the arrests detectives recovered a substantial amount of stolen property. The property included firearms, jewelry, construction tools, collectible sports cards and an all terrain vehicle.....

Traffic Accident Leads to Arrest in Valley Springs

Valley Springs, CA....A traffic accident in Valley Springs led to the arrest of a Stockton man Wednesday afternoon, November 26, 2008..... Deputy Tom Oldham and Deputy Joe Crabtree responded to a solo vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy 26 and Olive Orchard Rd. Deputies contacted the driver of the vehicle Gregory Everett II, 28, of Stockton. While speaking with Everett, deputies noted the strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Deputies detained Everett at that time and requested the California Highway Patrol to conduct a driving under the influence investigation...

Burson Man Arrested on Drug Charges

Brandon Sturgil (31) of Burson was arrested after Sheriffs Deputies found a quarter pound of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun during a traffic stop. On Monday (12/1/08) at approximately 12:20 PM Deputy Monique Trudeau stopped Sturgil for expired registration at the intersection of Hwy 26 and Vista Del Lago in Valley Springs. During the traffic stop Deputy Trudeau located a loaded 9mm handgun, a quarter pound of methamphetamine, 6 grams of cocaine, small amounts of ecstasy and marijuana as well as $3,175 in cash....
