Staff Member at Tuolumne County Jail Covid Positive

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."On Wednesday, we were notified one of our staff members in the custody facility tested positive for COVID-19. In response to the positive case, we are working closely with public health while conducting containment measures and mandatory testing for all inmate and staff within our facility. Additional resources from UCSF are on-site today to expedite the testing process. The purpose of testing is to identify any other potential cases or exposures. All exposures in congregate areas of our facility require containment and quarantine measures. These measures include adjusting distribution of meals, medications, appointments, and court appearance, all which have been pre-planned for.

Surveillance Footage Leads to Man’s Arrest for Drug Sales, Theft & Robbery.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."Wednesday morning, just before 10 am, Deputy Boujikian was dispatched to the Aladdin Motor Inn for a reported theft. When Deputy Boujikian arrived, she learned a chainsaw was stolen from the bed of a customer’s truck earlier the same morning. A review of the surveillance video determined another customer of the Inn removed the chainsaw from the truck and hid it in some nearby bushes.

San Andreas, CA...On July 2, 2020 at about 7:00PM, Suspect Roger Wayne Anderson surrendered himself to the Calaveras County Jail. He is being held with a bail of $1,185,000.00.

Canine Shot & Killed in Jenny Lind, Dog's Killer on the Run

Jenny Lind, CA...On July 1, 2020 at about 7:10AM the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call of a disturbance in the 9000 block of Scenic Valley Rd, Jenny Lind. The victim reported he was arguing with a person who was causing excessive dust by driving at an accelerated speed passed his residence. During the argument, a neighbor, Roger Wayne Anderson (60 Years old, Jenny Lind) reportedly exited his trailer and fired 4 shots from a hand gun killing the victim’s dog due to it barking excessively. Anderson then pointed the handgun at the victim and made threats to kill him. After a short exchange of words, Anderson fled the area in an older blue Ford Expedition prior to the deputy’s arrival.

Angels Camp, CA...Advisory: Vandalism The Utility Payment Drop Box located in the parking lot of City Hall was vandalized sometime between yesterday afternoon, July1, 2020 and this morning, July 2, 2020. It is unknown if any payments were stolen because there were some payments still in the box.

75 Year Old Sonora Man Taken Into Custody After Threatening to Kill Caretaker & Shoot at Law Enforcement

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."A tense call ends best way possible. Last night, at approximately 7:30 pm, our dispatch center received an alarming call for service at a residence on Dapple Gray Way in Cedar Ridge. The reporting victim told dispatchers she was caretaking for 75-year-old Donald Jacobsen of Sonora when he took her .38 revolver, pointed it at her and threatened to kill her.
