Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Team Recap November 3, 2020 |

San Andreas, CA...On October 28th, 2020, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation in the 6000 block of Sesame Street in Mokelumne Hill. Deputies seized 220 growing marijuana plants with an estimated value exceeding $154,000. Additionally, over 8 pounds of processed marijuana and various amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, and Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) were located and seized. Two suspects initially fled the scene on foot but were apprehended by deputies and were placed under arrest. One additional suspect was issued a citation.

Columbia Man Arrested, Major Injuries to Himself & Discovery Bay Woman in Hwy 4 Collision |

Douglas Flat, CA...Mark Garcia, was traveling westbound on SR-4, approaching Batten Road. Nicole Rieg, was traveling eastbound on SR-4, just east of Batten Road, approaching Garcia's location. For an unknown reason, Garcia allowed his vehicle to travel to the left of the center line of the roadway, into the eastbound traffic lane, directly into the path of Rieg's vehicle. The two vehicles collided head on. Both parties were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. Both parties sustained major injuries as a result of this collision and they were transported by helicopter to Modesto Area Hospitals.

West Point, CA...On October 22, 2020, The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report that fourteen year old Kaylee was missing after visiting a friend’s residence in West Point. Initial information obtained by deputies indicated that Kaylee was originally given permission to spend a few nights at a friend’s house. However, when her mother went to retrieve her, occupants at the residence told her that Kaylee had left prior to her arrival.

Warrant Scam Making the Rounds in Tuolumne County |

Sonora, CA...Our office has received numerous inquiries regarding scammers calling local residents from the Sheriff’s Office phone number. These scammers are claiming to be deputies with our office and are using active and retired deputies names when identifying themselves. The scammers are telling residents they have warrants for their arrest and are requesting personal identifying information and/or money as a result of said warrant.

West Point, CA...On October 30th at about 7:00PM Detectives located Missing Person Kaylee at a residence in West Point. After a lengthy investigation by detectives three persons were arrested in connection with the case.

Vehicle Stolen From Angels Camp Located & Recovered in Sonora |

Angels Camp, CA...The stolen Dodge Durango was located in Sonora on October 28, 2020. The vehicle had been spray painted and was missing the battery. The vehicle was towed to a nearby tow yard and the owner was notified. The Crown Victoria has been located and the current owner has been contacted. Officers continue to investigate this case.
