Posted by: thepinetree on 05/14/2018 03:52 PM
Bear Valley, CA...On March 14, 2018, at approximately 11:00pm Jane-Drummond Mullarkey reported to the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office that her husband, Thomas Mullarkey, had not returned to their cabin after a day of skiing at the Bear valley Resort. The Alpine County Sheriff’s Office initiated a full-scale search that continued for five days during which heavy snow, avalanche danger and poor visibility conditions persisted. Based on information gathered by investigators, the search was focused within the resort’s boundary. On March 19, 2018, the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office reduced the search to a limited but continuous search both within the resort’s perimeter and surrounding backcountry as the snow pack melted.

Murphys, CA...It is the obligation of every government to provide for the public safety and security of its citizens. For local jurisdictions this responsibility includes the provision of law enforcement, fire protection, and health care. In many localities, such as Calaveras County, the only direct input the public has in how these services are delivered is limited to the election of a Sheriff to manage law enforcement.

Above & Beyond Service From Sonora CHP

Posted by: thepinetree on 05/09/2018 10:07 AM
Jamestown, CA...On Tuesday, shortly after 6:00 pm, one of our officers contacted two pedestrians on SR-120 at SR-108, Yosemite Junction. Their ride to Escalon from Black Oak Casino had fallen through. One of the individuals required a wheelchair and they were unable to find transportation that could accommodate them, so they decided to walk. Generally our officers will provide a ride to a safe location but unfortunately the wheelchair did not fold and would not fit in the patrol utility vehicle. Exhausting all of the usual resources, our officer thought outside of the box and responded in his personal vehicle.
