Angels Camp, CA...An Angels Camp Fire Truck ended up in Angels Creek this morning and rolled from the Fire Department across Hwy 4 into the creek. Thank goodness the truck was unoccupied. Thanks Jeff Rasmussen and R. Young for sending us these photos.

Wilseyville., CA....We have received the official Press release from the CHP on the head on collision that took a 23 year old Stockton gentleman's life and also injuring three others yesterday afternoon. The deceased name has not been officially released due to pending notification. Updated as of 4/2709 CHP release enclosed....

CAL Fire Announces 2009 Summer Preparedness for Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties

San Andreas – On Monday, May 11, 2009, at 8 AM. The Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit (TCU) of CAL FIRE announces the opening of summer preparedness within the state responsibility areas of Tuolumne County, Calaveras County, Eastern Stanislaus County and Eastern San Joaquin County. The declaration of summer preparedness allows all 15 CAL FIRE stations to be staffed on a 24-hour basis to help protect California’s wild lands. The Columbia Air Base will be staffed with a helicopter starting, Monday, May 18, 2009, at 8 AM. .....

CHP Sonora, is reporting a Possible Fatality at Hwy 108 at Hwy 120. Apparently this is involving a solo vehicle rollover. Traffic will be backed up for some time, and is being detoured. More details to come as we receive them. Lanes open as of 3:50pm. Confirmed Fatality. Updated with CHP Release. We want to express our deepest thoughts to the family and friends who knew the driver of the vehicle.....

CHP and Emergency crews are responding to a two vehicle head on collision at Blue Mountain Road at Noble Road near Wilseyville. We will keep you updated as we know more...Update as of 5:17pm, two mediflights have been called. Possible solo fatality. Updates to come. Confirmed fatality, awaiting CHP Press Release. 8:55pm, Just spoke with Officer Jaime Castillo, he informed us that crews are still on scene and we should have an official press release tomorrow. There were also three serious injuries involved. No vehicle descriptions as of yet. May our deepest thoughts go out to the families and friends of those involved today.

On April 18, 2009, LEO’s on the Placerville District responded to a possible transient camp. Upon arrival the LEO’s observed several camp fire and sanitary violations. Camino dispatch confirmed that one subject had a $100,000 and a $50,000 warrant out of Lake County. The subject was transported and booked into El Dorado County jail. Several violation notices were issued to the remaining subjects.

Plane Crash Near Pine Mountain Lake Airport~Corrected Press Release by Paul Tualla

On April 21, 2009, at approximately 5:50 PM, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a plane crash near the Pine Mountain Lake Airport, in Groveland CA. It was reported that the plane had crashed into an empty field in the 12900 Block of Clements Road. Sheriff’s Units, EMS and Fire crews responded to the scene. Emergency Crews located two occupants of the aircraft. The pilot, who sustained lacerations to the head, refused medical care at the scene. The passenger sustained possible spinal injuries and was airlifted to a valley hospital....
