Door Smashing Burglary Suspect Caught in Tuolumne County |

Sonora, CA... On Monday, deputies responded to an alarm call at Sears Hometown Store in East Sonora. On arrival, they saw the front glass doors of the business were broken. Sears employees arrived and video surveillance was reviewed. The video showed a white utility van ram through the front door windows. The driver and burglar was identified as 32-year-old Matthew Williams of Sonora. Williams stole numerous tool items from the store totaling over $1000.

Sheriff’s Office Adds Canine, Storm, to Patrol Staff! |

San Andreas, CA... The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce the newest addition to the patrol division. Deputy Michael Jericoff and Canine Deputy Storm (18 months old German Shepard) recently
received certification and the department's newest canine. To minimize the impact to the general fund, The Calaveras County Canine Unit orchestrated a T-shirts fundraiser in coordination with The Friends of Calaveras Sheriff's Office (non-profit) to lessen the impact to the Sheriff's Office budget. Several local businesses are credited with significant donations.

Suspect Responsible for Multiple Thefts Arrested |

Arnold, CA...On November 30, 2020, at about 4:30 PM deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Cosgrave Road in Angels Camp for a report of a residential burglary. During the initial investigation, deputies learned that a side-by-side utility vehicle, chainsaws, and jewelry were reported missing from the property and from inside of the residence. In total, approximately $14,000 worth of property had been stolen. While investigating the burglary deputies learned that a witness had observed potential suspects at the property. The witness was able to give a detailed description of the suspects.

San Andreas, CA... On December 9th, 2020, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation in the 10400 block of Fricot City Rd, in San Andreas. Deputies seized 43 growing marijuana plants and 34 pounds of processed marijuana with an estimated value exceeding $24,000. Additionally, 7 firearms were seized.

Drug Arrest Leads to Search Warrant for Firearms and Suspect Meth Lab |

San Andreas, CA...On December 2, 2020, at about 9:00 AM deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Gun Club Road in Angels Camp, for a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that approximately 1,500 pounds of copper wire and about $3,000 worth of tools had been taken from the property. Deputies collected evidence at the scene and began an investigation.
