Investigation Underway in La Grange Homicide

La Grange, CA...Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for leads and a suspect in connection with a homicide in La Grange over the weekend. The deputies were called to a home on Highway 132 on Sunday afternoon for a report of a “murder”. Two Mariposa County deputies were already on scene with the person who reported the crime.
Deputies arrived on scene and began a search of the property. They discovered a man’s body in a bedroom of the residence.

Christian Nelson, 25 Lost His Life in Collision on O'Byrnes Ferry Road

Copperopolis, CA....On April 3, 2021, at approximately 0230 hours. Mr. Nelson was driving a gray Ford F250 pickup truck southbound on O'Byrnes Ferry Road, south of Cosmic Court. Mr. Nelson allowed his vehicle to veer to the right and travel off the pavement and onto the shoulder. Mr. Nelson made an unsafe turning movement to the left and lost control of his vehicle. The Ford crossed the northbound lane, went off the roadway, and collided with a power pole. The Ford began to roll over, traveling through a wire fence and continued to roll several times. Mr. Nelson was was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle and unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Tuolumne County Man Arrested & Accused of Planning Mass Shooting

Sonora, CA...Following a tip from the FBI, Tuolumne County investigators arrested Amelio Eredio Renteria for threatening to commit a mass shooting. On Saturday afternoon, based on the information provided by the FBI, a traffic stop was conducted on Renteria in Willow Springs. The deputies did not find any weapons on Renteria but did find what appeared to be drug paraphernalia in his pocket.
