Jamestown, CA...Yesterday afternoon, deputies were called to Rocca Park in Jamestown for a man yelling and causing a disturbance. When deputies arrived, they saw and could hear the man, 45-year-old John Hosek of Jamestown, yelling. Deputies approached Hosek and attempted to calm him and speak with him. Hosek yelled obscenities at the deputies. Due to Hosek’s agitated state and concerns for the public’s safety at that time, Hosek was ordered to lay face down on the ground. Hosek refused the orders, took a boxing stance, approached the deputies, and challenged them to a fight.

Erik Malmin, 30 from Angels Camp Lost His Life In Early Saturday Morning Collision

Angels Camp, CA...On April 10, 2021, at approximately 0345 hours. Mr. Malmin was driving a green Chevrolet Suburban northbound on Vallecito Road just south of State Route 4 at an unknown speed. Mr. Malmin lost control of his vehicle as he traveled through a curve in the roadway and the Chevrolet left the roadway, becoming airborne, over a steep hillside. The Chevrolet landed at the bottom of the hillside and started to roll over, causing Mr. Malmin to be ejected from the vehicle. Unfortunately, Mr. Malmin sustained fatal injuries in this collision.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."Our office has recently received several concerning reports of a new phone scam making its rounds. The scammers are reportedly calling and claiming to have kidnapped a loved one of the person they called. The scammers are demanding a wire transfer of money to an account or they will cause harm to the family member. The reporting persons state the calls are disturbing and seem real as a person can be heard screaming in the background of the call.
