Groveland, CA...Two British Motorcyclists astride a 2018 Harley Davidson sustained major injuries when they struck the front of a 2018 Chevrolet driven by a French Couple two miles east of the top of Old Priest Grade. The British couple sustained major injuries when they were ejected from their motorcycle and were flown to Modesto area hospitals.

Hwy 108 & Hwy 120 Collision Takes Lives of Elderly Sonora Man & Woman

Jamestown, CA...On Sunday, July 15, 2018, at approximately 6:14 pm, a 91 year old male Sonora resident was driving a 1993 Toyota Camry eastbound on State Route 120/108, approaching Yosemite Junction. At this time, 42 year old Berkeley resident, Julieta Pisani-McCarthy, was driving a 2017 Ford Fiesta, westbound on State Route 120 intending to make a left turn onto State Route 120/108, at Yosemite Junction. For unknown reasons, Pisani-McCarthy failed to yield the right away to the approaching Toyota Camry and started into the intersection directly into the path of the Toyota Camry. The driver of the Toyota Camry was unable to avoid colliding into the left front of the Ford Fiesta.

36 Year Old Angels Camp Woman Loses Her Life in Vallecito Road Collision

Angels Camp, CA...On July 15, 2018, at approximately 1920 hours, Party #1 was driving her 2005 Subaru eastbound on Vallecito Road, east of Rolleri Bypass at a high rate of speed. Mr. Sanders was driving his 1980 Ford westbound on Vallecito Road, east of Rolleri Bypass at 40 mph approaching the 2005 Subaru. Party #1 attempted to negotiate a right hand curve and allowed her vehicle to travel across the double yellow line into the westbound lane. The left front of the Subaru collided with the left rear of the Ford. The Subaru continued eastbound and off of the roadway. The Subaru overturned twice, ejecting Party #1 from the vehicle.

Kern Valley State Prison Investigating Inmate Death as a Homicide

Delano, CA...Kern Valley State Prison (KVSP) officials are investigating the July 15 death of an inmate as a homicide. At around 9 p.m. Sunday, a correctional officer conducting a security check on Facility A found inmate Eric Moreno, 30, unresponsive in his cell. An alarm was sounded and staff immediately began lifesaving measures.
Moreno was transported to an outside hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:01 p.m.

Russian National Charged in Conspiracy to Act as an Agent of the Russian Federation Within the United States

Washington, DC...A criminal complaint was unsealed today in the District of Columbia charging a Russian national with conspiracy to act as an agent of the Russian Federation within the United States without prior notification to the Attorney General. The announcement was made by Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jessie K. Liu, and Nancy McNamara, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office.

Three California Residents Sentenced in $20 Million Mortgage Fraud Scheme

Los Angeles, CA...Three owners and/or managers of Los Angeles, California-area foreclosure rescue companies, Dorothy Matsuba, Jamie Matsuba, and Thomas Matsuba, were sentenced to 240, 135, and 168 months in prison today for their roles in a foreclosure rescue scheme, respectively. Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney Nicola T. Hanna for the Central District of California, Assistant Director in Charge Paul D. Delacourt of the FBI’s Los Angeles Division, Acting Deputy Inspector General for Investigations Paul Conlon of the Federal Housing Finance Agency-Office of Inspector General (FHFA-OIG), Special Agent in Charge R. Damon Rowe of Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation’s (IRS-CI) Los Angeles Field Office, and Sheriff Jim McDonnell of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department made the announcement.

Congratulations to Now Retired Army Master Sergeant & Current CHP Officer CHP Officer John Fernandez

San Andreas, CA...San Andreas CHP Officer John Fernandez recently retired from the United States Army after nearly 21 years of service. He started his career in the active duty Army in September 1997 as an Infantryman. A few years later he transitioned to the Military Police. His active duty career spanned over a decade and included a deployment to Afghanistan where he earned the Combat Action Badge and Bronze Star Medal. In 2008, he transitioned from active duty to the Army Reserve and also began his career with the CHP.

Grand Jury Indicts 12 Russian Intelligence Officers for Hacking Offenses Related to the 2016 Election

Washington, DC...The Department of Justice today announced that a grand jury in the District of Columbia returned an indictment presented by the Special Counsel’s Office. The indictment charges twelve Russian nationals for committing federal crimes that were intended to interfere with the 2016 U.S. presidential election. All twelve defendants are members of the GRU, a Russian Federation intelligence agency within the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian military. These GRU officers, in their official capacities, engaged in a sustained effort to hack into the computer networks of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee, and the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, and released that information on the internet under the names "DCLeaks" and "Guccifer 2.0" and through another entity.

Jamestown, CA...Tuolumne County Sheriff's Dept on July 10th.."The demolition of Rosalinda’s Gentlemen’s Club and Motel located along Hwy 108 in Jamestown began yesterday, four months after an undercover investigation culminating in a search warrant was conducted resulting in ten people being booked into the county jail.
