Dicey Situation Ends Peacefully on Jackass Hill

Tuttletown, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."Update 8:45 PM: The Crisis Response Unit communicated with the man and he eventually put down his weapons and followed instructions. The man was safely taken into custody for a mental health evaluation. Original Post- Incident at 5:57 PM. TCSO Sheriff's Deputies, SWAT, Crisis Negotiations Team, Angels Camp PD, Calaveras Sheriff's Deputies, CHP, Fire personnel and EMS are at Jackass Hill Road/ Hwy 49 with an armed suicidal subject. Please stay out of the area."

Kansas Traffic Stop & 30lbs of Marijuana Leads to Search Warrant in Rail Road Flat

Rail Road Flat, CA...On 10/6/2017 at approximately 9:00 AM, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office deputies served a search warrant on a property located near the 4000 Block of Prussian Hill Road in Railroad Flat. The search warrant was a result of a traffic enforcement stop conducted by the Kansas Highway Patrol near Topeka Kansas. During the traffic enforcement stop Troopers located 30 pounds of processed marijuana. It was discovered the owner of the vehicle and occupant had been a registered marijuana grower in Calaveras County. On further investigation it was determined that the Calaveras County commercial cannabis registration for that property had been denied in May of 2017 for failing to complete required documentation.

West Point, CA..On 10/12/2017 at approximately 0930 hours, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office deputies served a search warrant on a property located on the 3000 block of Bald Mountain Road. A large marijuana grow had been discovered at the location and investigators found that this property was not registered with Calaveras County as an authorized commercial medical cannabis cultivation site.

Fake Eradication Team Steals 500 Marijuana Plants, Cash & Ford F250 Pickup in West Point

West Point, CA...On 10/13/17 at about 2030 hours Calaveras County Sheriff's Office Dispatch received a call of a robbery that occurred earlier in the day. Deputies responded to the 22000 block of Hwy 26 in West Point to investigate the incident. Once on scene deputies were informed by the victims that the incident occurred earlier in the day at a marijuana grow site located on Skull Flat Road, West Point. The four victims informed deputies that two vehicles entered the property on Skull Flat Road with the vehicle occupants identifying themselves as law enforcement. The victims said that there were between five to six suspects and at least three of them were armed with guns. Two of the victims were tied up by the suspects. One of the suspects reportedly was wearing a badge during this incident but did not display any other law enforcement identification or markings. The suspects left the property with approximately five hundred marijuana plants, a large amount of cash, and also stole a black colored Ford F250 truck bearing California license plate #8D04533. The identity of the suspects is unknown and the two suspect vehicles were described as a silver sport utility vehicle and a red truck (pictures attached).

Man Continues to Refuse to Leave Apartment in Jamestown

Jamestown, CA...From the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Dept..."Update at 12:15 PM: There have been no changes. We are communicating with the man in hopes of getting him to exit the building and reach a peaceful resolution. Update at 9:40 AM: The man is still refusing to come out of his apartment. The building the man is barricaded in has been evacuated. The scene is safe at this time and we are continuing to work on a peaceful resolution. Sheriff's Deputies are on scene at the Oak Hills Apartment complex on Preston Lane in Jamestown with a barricaded subject following a call into the Sheriff's Office regarding a disturbance. Please avoid the area."

Modesto Man Arrested On Transportation / Sales of Narcotics and Firearms Charges

Angels Camp, CA...On 10/04/17, at approximately 6:30 PM, an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department was on patrol when he observed a vehicle with a modified and illegible front license plate. The officer stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Murphys Grade Road and Rolleri Bypass Road, and a records check revealed that the driver of the vehicle is on searchable probation out of Stanislaus County.

Major Injuries to Twain Harte Woman in Tuolumne Road Hit & Run

Twain Harte, CA...Ms. Porta was traveling southbound on Tuolumne Road North in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. An unknown dark colored pickup truck was traveling northbound ahead of Ms. Porta. For an undetermined reason, the trailer being pulled by the dark colored pickup truck swung into the southbound lane and collided with the Jeep driven by Ms. Porta. Following the collision, the dark colored truck fled the scene. A witness indicated that the truck returned to the scene shortly after the collision and then fled again.

Two Day Walker Trail Marijuana Eradication

Copperopolis, CA...On 10-4-17 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office Marijuana Enforcement Team accompanied Code Compliance Officers on the service of an abatement warrant at a marijuana cultivation site on Walker Trail, which is rurally located between Copperopolis and Jenny Lind. This location was pending finalized registration with the Planning Department as a commercial medical marijuana cultivation site, however numerous additional marijuana cultivation plots well in excess of the allowable canopy size had been discovered on this parcel.

Dorrington Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal Golf Cart Collision

Vallecito, CA...On September 5, 2017, CHP San Andreas officers responded to a fatal collision involving a golf cart on SR-4 west of Redhill Road, which resulted in the death of Cody Agasi-Horn. During the collision investigation, officers determined the golf cart was recently stolen from private property and was being towed behind an unknown vehicle at the time of the collision. The driver of the towing vehicle fled the scene of the collision and did not contact law enforcement or emergency medical services as required by law.

Assault With a Deadly Weapon Arrest in Sonora!

Sonora, CA...On September 30, 2017, at about 9:45 P.M., Sonora Police Department received a call of a physical fight in progress near the area of the Seventh Day Adventist Church on N. Forest Road. When Officers arrived on scene they observed a male subject, identified as Michael Logan Baker, 22 years old of Jamestown, on top of another male subject. Baker was slamming the male victim’s head against an asphalt surface. A Sonora Police Officer deployed his Taser on Baker in order to subdue Baker and prevent him from harming the male victim any further.
