CALAVERAS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT URGES 9-1-1 CALLERS TO ‘KNOW YOUR LOCATION’

San Andreas, Calif. – Many callers to 9-1-1 assume that call takers who answer their call will automatically know their location. This is not always the case––especially with cell phones. “In a recent consumer survey we found that over two-thirds of respondents believe that 9-1-1 knows their location when they call from a cell phone,” said Public Safety Communications Assistant Director Karen Wong. “However, this is a public misperception and our pilot program will help us guide communications to convey the importance of knowing your location when calling 9-1-1.” ...

Student Arrested For Hitting Teacher At Bret Harte

Angels Camp, CA...On November 10, 2014 at approximately 12:55 pm the Angels Camp Police Department received a report of a battery on a school employee at Bret Harte High School. Upon investigation it was determined that a 15 year old student hit a teacher with his fist causing injury to the teacher’s head.

Resident Bound, House Ransacked & Marijuana Taken In West Point Robbery

West Point, CA...Last night at approximately 2050 hours, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Smitty Lane in West Point for a robbery. A 24 year old male victim was confronted by three unknown male suspects at his residence. The suspects forcible bounded the victim with duct tape and brandished a revolver type hand gun. Another subject brandished a pocket knife while the remaining suspect entered the victim’s residence and ransacked the home. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of marijuana and fled from the household....

Tiburon, CA...On August 11, 2014 the Marin County Sheriff’s Office Investigations and Coroner Divisions began investigations into the death of Robin McLaurin Williams who had been pronounced deceased at 12:02 pm at 95 St. Thomas Way in unincorporated Tiburon, California. The investigations into Mr. Williams’ death have concluded with the Coroner Division issuing the following findings:

Calaveras County, CA...Enclosed are the Calaveas County Sheriff's logs for October 27 - November 5th, 2014. Some highlights: Occurred on Hwy 12, Burson. Rp calling regarding neighbor walking up to rp's residence making statements he would do whatever he had to to keep people off his property, friend coming to rp's residence went toward subjects residence probably what caused issue, rp has also noticed subject having suspicious containers moving around the property, subject making statements about having cameras in the sky. Occurred on Black Oak Dr, Arnold. Rp has a neighbor whose wife is "5050" crazy, wife made allegations that
there is something sexual going on between rp and her and that he was threatening to kill her husband...

Hunt Is Over For Alleged Killer Of Pennsylvania Trooper

Tannersville, PA...The alleged shooter of two Pennsylvania State Police troopers has been taken into custody, Pennsylvania State Police confirmed today. Eric Matthew Frein, 31, who was added last month to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, faces state charges of homicide, homicide of a law enforcement officer, and attempted murder, as well as a federal unlawful flight to avoid prosecution charge. He is considered armed and extremely dangerous....

TCSO Cause of Death For William Ray Jaspar

Copperopolis, CA...Late afternoon on October 28th a passing motorist saw a deceased William Ray Jaspar, 58 from Riverbank in Lake Tulloch near the Lake Tulloch Bridge. A forensic autopsy was conducted on the deceased, William Jaspar, The pathologist concluded the cause of death was drowning with a contributing factor of a massive stroke. It appears Mr. Jaspar suffered a massive stroke which caused him to fall into the water. The pathologist also concluded had Mr. Jaspar not drowned the stroke would have been fatal within several minutes....

Deceased Man Found In Lake Tulloch..UPDATED WITH DECEASED NAME

Copperopolis, CA... On 10/28/14 about 4:00 P.M. a citizen passing by on the Lake Tulloch Bridge saw what appeared to be a body in the water near the Tuolumne County side of the lake near the bridge. A Deputy was dispatched and located a body submerged about ten feet from shore in approx. ten feet of water. On the shore line near the body, the Deputies found a fishing pole and related fishing gear....
