Lathrop Man Sustains Injuries in Collision with Barbed Wire Fence and Tree

Copperopolis, CA...A 51 year old Lathrop man was driving his Nissan southbound on O'Byrnes Ferry, north of Black Creek Drive at approximately 65 mph. For unknown reasons, he drove it off of the roadway and down a dirt embankment where he collided with a barbed wire fence and tree.

26 Year Old Pioneer Man Loses Life in Early Morning Hwy 49 Collision

Sutter Creek, CA...At 6:27am this morning a 26 year old Pioneer man was driving his 2005 Infinity G35x northboud on Hwy 49, north of Valley View Road at an unknown rate of speed. A 70 year old Plymouth man was driving his 2005 Chevy 3500 southbound on Hwy 49 at 60 mph. For an unknown reason the Pioneer man drover over the solid yellow lines and into the southbound lanes and into the path of the Plymouth man's 2005 Chevy.

July 24th Update Cici Found Deceased....Angels Camp Resident Arrested for Animal Cruelty, Animal Neglect, Theft of an Animal, and Conspiracy

Angels Camp, CA...****UPDATE****07/24/2017...CORRECTION FROM OUR UPDATE ON 07/23/17: On 07/22/17 canines Coco and Casper were reunited with the owner/victim, and Cici is the name of the third missing dog. On 07-24-17, at approximately 8:25 AM, the Angels Camp Police Department was contacted by a local utility company employee that wishes to remain anonymous at this time. He advised that he located what he believed to be the remains of the third missing dog from this case, and offered to take police to the location of the remains. The reporting party advised that he initially found the remains on either July 3rd or 4th, 2017, and did not realize they were associated with this case until seeing one of the missing dog flyers that was posted at the Sierra Hills Market in Murphys, over the last weekend.

Angels Camp Resident Arrested for Animal Cruelty, Animal Neglect, Theft of an Animal, and Conspiracy

Angels Camp, CA....On 07/22/17 the Angels Camp Police Department was contacted by a Calaveras County Animal Services employee, who believed that one of the missing dogs, Casper, may be in their custody. The dog in their custody was confirmed to be Casper, after the victim was notified and positively identified him. Further investigation revealed that a second dog owned by the victim, Cici, may have also recently been in the custody of animal services, and arrangements were made by animal services to have that dog transported back to their facility so the victim could positively identify him. The victim positively identified that dog as his missing dog, Cici, and as of this report two of the three dogs have been reunited with the victim.

Mariposa, CA...This news release is intended to notify residents and the general public that evacuation orders for the town of Mariposa will be lifted on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00AM. Highway 49 South is open with no restrictions. Highway 140 East of Mariposa is open to Yosemite. There will still be smoke in the respective areas as firefighters continue firefighting operations. If at anytime you feel unsafe, please call 911.

Angels Camp, CA...Most of you probably are aware that three pit bulls have disappeared from the Pet Bath House commercial facility in Angels Camp. The investigation is ongoing. The owner of the dogs is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of his pets.

Evacuation Guidelines for Tuolumne County Residents

Sonora, CA...Types of Evacuations: In Tuolumne County there are three types of evacuation warnings. Implementation of one or the other is dependent upon the actual or potential danger to the affected population as determined by the Incident Command Staff or the Board of Supervisors. The Three Types of Evacuation are: Evacuation Advisory - Issued to the media to alert the public to potential evacuation orders. The advisory will contain general information on how to prepare for an evacuation. Evacuation Warning - Issued when an evacuation order is eminent. It includes the specific geographical area that may be evacuated and procedures to be followed. Evacuation Order - Issued when there is an immediate threat to life and/or property. The evacuation order contains specific geographic area to be evacuated and procedures to be followed.

San Andreas, CA...The leading cause of death for Americans 15-20 years old is motor vehicle collisions, (According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and the CHP’s goal is to reduce the death rate among teenagers as the result of these collisions.

Sacramento Man Lost His Life in Hwy 49 Big Rig Collision

Mokelumne Hill, CA...At about 8:30pm a 42 year old Sacramento man was operating a combination commercial vehicle consisting of a truck tractor and it's two trailers, hauling asphalt from Carson Hill Rock Products in Angels Camp to a highway paving project on Hwy 88 in Amador County. He was traveling northbound on Hwy 49, north of Mokelumne Hill descending a grade towards the North Fork Mokelumne River Bridge. He reached a speed of over 40 mph, which was too fast for the truck he was driving on the steep curved roadway.
