Encounter With A Wood Pile Sends Angels Camp Man To MTMC

Angels Camp, CA...An Angels Camp man was traveling northbound on Pool Station Road at approximately 40-45 mph. He made an unsafe turning movement to the left. Due to his unsafe turning movement he allowed his Ford to leave the roadway and enter the west shoulder. When the Ford entered the west shoulder it collided with a barbed wire fence. Vehicle 1 continued in motion and collided with a wood pile and then a dirt ditch. After the collision the driver was transported by ambulance to the Mark Twain Medical Center.

CHP San Andreas Hosts Teen Driving Class

San Andreas, CA – The leading cause of death for Americans 15-20 years old is motor vehicle collisions, (According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and the CHP’s goal is to reduce the death rate among teenagers as the result of these collisions. In order to address this alarming trend, the CHP developed a program called Start Smart. Start Smart is aimed at helping newly licensed and future licensed teenage drivers understand the critical responsibilities of driving and to understand that accidents do happen, but collisions are 100 percent preventable.

Human Remains Not One Of Local Missing Persons Cases

Pinecrest, CA...The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Detectives are still actively trying to identify the human remains found off of Highway 108 near Old Strawberry Road. A search of the area was completed and no evidence to suggest a cause of death or the identity of the remains was found. Thus far, they have been able to rule out any connection to several local missing person cases and are actively working to determine if there is a connection to any other cases.

Minor Injuries In San Andreas Collision

San Andreas, CA...On May 2, 2016 at approximately 1650 hours an Angels Camp man was driving his Cadillac southbound on SR-49 north of Treat Ave. at two miles per hour, slowing for stopping traffic ahead. An Arnold man was driving his Mercedes to the rear of the Cadillac at 5 miles per hour. A Valley Springs woman was driving her Chevrolet at an unknown speed to the rear of the slowing vehicles. She failed to perceive traffic slowing ahead.

Lots Of Viewers Concerned About Marijuana Industry Driving Up Crime Rates

San Andreas, CA...By an overwhelming margin local viewers have voiced their concerns about the burgeoning local Marijuana industry. Many no longer seem concerned about medical or personal usage. their concerns seem to center on the growing industry making the area a crime target for the high value crop. This will no doubt be one of the biggest concerns for the incoming Sheriff.

Authorities On Look Out For Home Invasion Robbery Suspect

Sonora, CA...The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a home invasion robbery which occurred just before 6 AM this morning on Campbells Flat Road in Sonora. This was not a random act. This residence was specifically targeted.

San Andreas, CA...For the appointment of Sheriff this special meeting is being held so the Board of Supervisors may conduct a public interview of the five (5) candidates. All of the candidates have submitted their application packets, meet the requirements to occupy the position of Sheriff and have participated in first round interviews by a ranking committee made up of law enforcement professionals.

Human Remains Found In Pinecrest Area

Pinecrest, CA...Last night around 5:55 PM, an alert citizen spotted what he believed to be human remains in the area of Highway 108 and Old Strawberry Road in Pinecrest and called the Sheriff's Office. Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene and confirmed the remains were human.

Major Injures In Angels Camp Suspected DUI Collision Last Night

Angels Camp, CA...A 36 year old Murphys man was traveling northbound on SR-49 north of Copello Dr. at a high rate of speed. An Angels Camp police officer was following his Chrysler 300 with emergency lights activated in an attempt to make an enforcement stop. A 41 year old Pine Grove man in his Ford F250 was traveling northbound on SR-49 ahead of the Chrysler. A 54 year old Mokelumne Hill man in his 2012 F550 was traveling southbound on SR-49 approaching the other two vehicles. The Murphys man allowed the front of his car to collide into the left rear of the Pine Grove man's pickup. He was able to regain control after the collision and safely slow to a stop on the shoulder. He lost control of his 300 and spun into the southbound lane.
