Valley Springs, CA...On 06/23/16 at approximately 2250 hours, Calaveras County Deputies observed a motorcycle making unsafe lane changes. The motorcycle was traveling at speeds greater than 75 mph and crossing a double divided highway. Deputies attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on the violations near Pattison Road and South Camanche Parkway, in Burson.

Orlando, FL...In order to provide an update on the progress of the investigation into the Pulse nightclub shooting, the FBI is releasing an excerpt from the timeline of events inside the Pulse nightclub during the early morning hours of Sunday, June 12, 2016. Out of respect for the victims of this horrific tragedy, law enforcement will not be releasing audio of the shooter’s 911 calls at this time, nor will law enforcement be releasing audio or transcripts of the calls made by victims at the Pulse nightclub during the incident. Furthermore, the name of the shooter and that of the person/group to whom he pledged allegiance are omitted.
Pinecrest, CA...(A Happy Ending from the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Dept.) These boys, Jeremi and Mathew were in the area of ramble adventure above Cleo's bath in Pinecrest. Mark and Donna heard the boys talking as they hiked toward the summit and yelled out for help! Mathew and Jeremi went to Mark and Donna. Jeremi recognized LuLu through the pictures on social media and asked Mark and Donna if they were the lost hikers and if LuLu was their dog.

Pinecrest, CA...(Update...The search for the missing hikers has resumed this morning.
Multiple agencies including Stanislaus County, Calaveras County, Alpine County, Monterey County, Contra Costa County, El Dorado County, Marin County, Mono County, Forest Service and the National Guard have joined the search. The rescuers have extensive training for inclimate weather and treacherous terrain. The Stanislaus County Sheriff's helicopter is in the air this morning flying over the trail area and surrounding areas with two more additional helicopters joining the search at 9 AM. The emigrant wilderness search area is very large with various terrains including steep granite, meadows, valleys, creeks and snow. There are 4 scent dogs and 1 trail dog being utilized in the search. Updates will be posted throughout the day.) Donna and Mark also have a black and white dog with them, pictured below. The two experienced hikers left on Sunday the 12th to hike the Crabtree Trail Head to Lake Gem and the Long and Deer Lakes near the Dodge Ridge, Pinecrest area. They parked their gray Chevy Tahoe at the Crabtree trail head and have not returned to their vehicle.
Sonora, CA...11 June 2016, at approx. 7:29 am, an Officer took a vehicle theft report of a red, 2001, Ford Expedition. The vehicle was unlocked, with the keys left inside. After the Officer completed taking the report, he observed a vehicle matching the description. The vehicle attempted to elude the Officer then pulled into a driveway of a residence on Saratoga Road, as if the driver knew who lived at the residence. It was later determined the resident didn’t know the suspect.
San Andreas, CA...The 2015-2016 Grand Jury has released its final report effective 6/11/2016. Due to budgetary constraints, this year it will not be publishing the report as a supplement in the Calaveras Enterprise. Over the last year the Grand Jury conducted inspections and investigations of the Sheriff’s Office Complaint Process, County Jail, Vallecito Conservation Camp, County Jail Medical Services, Animal Control, and Public Works-Waste Management.

Orlando, FL...Shortly before closing time at Pulse gay club law enforcement has released that Omar Mateen, a Florida resident and US Citizen took hostages and has killed at least 20 people and injured 42. He was armed with multiple weapons and some attendees have reported he was wearing what appeared to be a suicide vest.

Sonora, CA...8 June 2016, at approx. 9:42 pm, Officers responded to the 100 block of Hospital Road for a reported vehicle accident, as well as a verbal dispute. When Officers arrived they made contact with several subjects. During the Officer’s investigation into the matter, it was determined Christopher Metcalf, 25 of Sonora, was westbound on Mono Way in a 1997 Green Nissan pick-up, when he ran a red traffic light at the intersection of Mono Way and Greenley Road, and struck a 2007 Honda Accord being driven by Daniel Roy, 34 of Angels Camp.
