Copperopolis, CA....One Copperopolis youth suffered minor injuries and the driver none when their vehicle hit a tree then rolled into its roof due to driving at an unsafe speed for conditions, at approximately this morning at Hwy 4 and Horseshoe Road. Full CHP release enclosed....

Calaveras County, CA....On November 14, 2008, at about 11:35pm, a Calaveras County deputy in a marked unit attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding Westbound Highway 4 near Bonanza Mine Road just outside of Copperopolis. The vehicle, a Ford Focus, failed to yield and the lights of the vehicle were turned off at this time. The deputy pursued the vehicle Westbound Highway 4 heading downhill towards Copperopolis with speeds at about 90-100 miles per hour. Parolee Leads Calaveras Deputies on Chase

Calaveras County, CA....On Sunday morning, November 9, 2008, a Pioneer man wanted for a parole violation led Sheriffs Deputies on a chase through the town of West Point before crashing the vehicle he was driving and fleeing the scene. The Calaveras County Sheriff s Office received information from the Amador County Sheriffs Office that Dirk Caviglia, 33, a wanted parolee was headed in to Calaveras County on Hwy 26. Deputy Robert Huffman and Deputy Tom Oldham spotted Caviglia and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Caviglia accelerated away from the deputies....

Burson, CA....A Burson man was arrested by Sheriff's Deputies Monday night, November 10th, 2008, after he attempted to rob a homeowner at a residence located on the 5800 block of De Los Angeles Rd. in Burson. CHP is reporting a non-injury Collision at Hwy 26 at the Amador/Calaveras County Line involving a motorcycle vs. a vehicle. Use caution in the area as tow trucks are on scene. UPDATE 2:04pm....One Lane is Blocked. 3:15pm Roadway Clear.

Suspicious Circumstance leads to an Arrest in Twain Harte

Twain Harte, CA....On November 13, 2008, Sheriff’s Units were dispatched to a reported suspicious circumstance in the 19000 Block of August Ct. in Twain Harte. A male subject called and reported that someone was going to kill him and then the line disconnected. Deputy Wayne Thompson responded to the address.
