White Pines, CA...You know you are a kayaker when you can't go over a bridge without looking for water under it. ~Unknown Author. The eleventh annual Kayak Festival took the water this weekend at White Pines Lake in Arnold. SNAC hosted a fun filled day on the water with kayak rides, kayak demonstrations, food, and a raffle. Over 65 people signed up for the event and wanted to feel the water beneath them while riding some of the high quality kayaks in our area. SNAC had their boats ready and waiting for all of the eager paddlers staring at 10am........

Greetings from Brownsville....As I stroll down the dirt road on my way to the meadow looking through the tall cedars and pines that sprawl over the 20 acres, I recollect how happy my Father was the day he purchased this land. He loved the outdoors. Bonding with Nature, gazing into the star lit heavens, working the soil with his bare hands, talking to the wild animals, squirrels in particular and he even named one Charlie, tending his orchard and relaxing after a hard days work with an icy cold beer on the deck were some of the small yet powerful parts of his personality.....

San Andreas, CA....The Class of 2008 was 255 strong as they graduated last night. The stadium was filled to overflowing for all the festivities. In addition the the graduation last night Calaveras High School Principal Mike Merrill announced that he will be moving up to an administrative position in the district office and Ric Stitt the Current Vice Principal will be the new Calaveras High School principal next year. Calaveras Superintendent Jim Frost also mentioned during his comments that they are losing 32 staff members to retirement from the schools within the district. We would like to wish those staff members well as they move onto retirement. Many of the positions being filled are from past Calaveras High School Graduates. The Graduation is enclosed along with the list of Graduates.....

Harmony Life House is hosting a free concert and pizza party for adults with mental or physical disabilities on Friday, June 20 beginning at 3 p.m. Christian Recording Artist Paula Nelson Shearer will be performing many songs from her two albums, plus new songs that have never been recorded. Free High School Girls Golf Clinics Being Offered at Sequoia Woods Country Club

Arnold, CA....The Sequoia Woods Women's Golf Club and Bret Harte High School Girl's Golf Club is Co-Hosting Free Girl's High School Golf Clinics. "For High School Sports-Girls. Interested girl's entering High School, especially incoming Freshman are encouraged to attend. Even if you are not planning to try out for the golf team, even if you are playing another sport. The first Clinic will be held Wednesday, June 25th at 11am at Sequoia Woods Country Club in Arnold. The reason for these Clinics is to provide greater accessibility to the game of golf for girls.
