After receiving a call from the TV show producers, Dave Vaccarezza, owner of Cal-Waste, was asked to provide a garbage truck in their quest or question whether they could successfully blow it up....

Mokelumne Hill, CA....The quaint village of Mokelumne Hill was packed on July 4th as the Annual Fourth of July Parade rolled down Main Street. It is an annual party as the extended Moke Hill family dons their red, white & blue and celebrates our nations birth and the history and community of Mokelumne Hill. This year the Grand Marshal of the parade was Mokelumne Hill's own Michael DellOrto. Not only was he the Grand Marshall but the firehouse, also known as his second home, was named in his honor. Mr. DellOrto is not only a former Calaveas County Supervisor but he has been and is a lynchpin of the community and helps keep it rolling along year after year....

Arnold, CA....Many signs point to an economic recovery picking up steam in the Arnold area. Many escrows have closed and a new wave of second home and hopefully some primary home owners have happened in the area. The era of multiple above price, and even some competing above price cash offers recently. These are great but for a real recovery to take hold local businesses have to feel the effects as well. A positive indicator on this front is a recent SNAC Paddlefest. This year they sold more boats the day of the event than anytime in the 17 year history of the event....

The Bret Harte High School Sports Center parking lot on Murphys Grade Road will be available to the public for fireworks on July 4 from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. No public displays of fireworks are scheduled inside the City limits....

Arnold, CA....The Arnold area is busy getting ready for its busiest weekend of the year. The Annual Independence Parade Will Start Rolling at 10am on Saturday, July 5th from the Arnold Byway and end at Cedar Center. We had the pleasure to spend a few minutes talking with Arnold Postmaster Linda Baker who is also GABA's parade committee coordinator about the big parade and more. This year's theme is "Built In The USA". The Grand Marshals are Bunny Firebaugh & Ray Sutliff. Make plans, grab your lawn chairs, get your Red, White & Blue ready to wave and wear and we will see you on Saturday.

Angels Camp, CA....The Murphys Angels Lions Club Car Show was a great display of rolling works of art last weekend. Over 100 cars were displayed. Proceeds from the event help the Lions many causes in the area. We tried to get a shot of every entrant and over 120 photos are below....
