Angels Camp, CA...This week join the Calaveras Children's Repertory Theatre as they present Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs written by Jessie Braham White and adapted from Grimms' Fairy Tales. This great production is directed by Mike Evans with music by Janelle Chaney. Angels Camp, CA...Calaveras Saddle Queen is a competition open to young ladies age 14-18 years of age that live in Calaveras County. Calaveras Saddle Club combined with the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee host this event every year on the first day of Fair. This year four local young ladies will Vie for the coveted title of Calaveras Saddle Queen. They are Nicole Harp, Julia Kalik, Samantha Cobb and McKensey Middleton. Murphys, CA...Alchemy presents "Amateur Chef Sunday Night" - Have you ever wanted to cook one of your favorite, best, or traditional family recipes in a restaurant, with the help of a professional Chef, and then sell your dish as "Tonight's Special" to a restaurant full of people? If so, Alchemy's " Amateur Chef Sunday Night" is for you. Submit your recipes, along with photos and the recipe's story (if you have them) directly to Alchemy's Chef Jason Wright via e-mail. Every few weeks, Jason will choose a submission to be the featured dish. The Alchemy kitchen staff will take care of ordering the food and any of the hard prepping. The Sunday morning on which your dish will be featured, you may (but don't have to) come in to finish off the preparation with Jason. That night, your recipe will be Alchemy's Dinner Special. Invite your friends and anyone you want to impress. You will be encouraged to work with our servers to deliver each order of your featured dish to the table. Mr. Frog’s Wild Ride 2013 a Pedaling Success for Feeney Park |

With ideal weather conditions and verdant hills, 248 riders took part in the sixth annual Mr. Frog’s Wild Ride on Saturday, April 20. The ride began at Feeney Park in the historic gold rush town of Murphys and offered 50K and 100K routes. From as far away as the state of Washington, and the country of Sweden, the cyclist ranged in age from 17 to 81. At the barbecue following the ride, participants went out of their way to express their appreciation for the beautiful countryside, the friendly atmosphere and the delicious food. Many said they would return next April for the seventh annual ride...

Murphys, CA...Prizes will be awarded in twelve categories for the fastest times when the second annual Off the Beaten Path – Walk/Run for Autism Awareness is held Saturday, April 27 under the auspices of Mind Matters, the Murphys based clinic that treats autism and related disorders. Male and female runners in the five mile event will compete in six age groups: 12 and under, 13 to 19, 20 to 35, 36 to 50, 51 to 65, and over 65. Murphys resident Brian Dusquenel, a retired CHP officer and metal sculptor, is creating the specially designed awards...
