Chatom Vineyards is delighted to join the gang at Camps Restaurant at Greenhorn Creek for a Wine Tasting Wednesday June 18th from 4-6pm. Copperopolis, CA....The Calaveras Arts Council kicks off its 2008 series of free “Music in the Parks” on Wednesday, June 18, at the Copperopolis Town Square, starting at 6:30pm. If you haven’t yet visited this whole new town with a historic past, this is a good time. The free concert, the first of ten this summer in various parks of Calaveras County, will feature the seven-member “Second Wind.” Sail away with the smooth harmonies of this group from Amador County whose specialty of Doo-Wop has prompted them to subtitle their music, “Doo-Wop that Won't Stop.” The Replay is Enclosed....

Arnold, CA...Kris Fichtner, of the Arnold Library, will be reading a 30-min story at the Arnold library this summer each Wednesday afternoon at 2:30pm starting on June 11th. So if you are looking for a way to get out of the sun, or a way to occupy your kids for a few minutes while you choose some age appropriate reading material (yeah right, like you'll have time to finish a book right?!) or if your kids are longing for the social interaction school usually provides, come on down to the Arnold Library located at 1065 Blagen Road in Arnold.

Frogtown, CA...We stopped by the Sober Grad Night preparations at Frogtown on Friday as they were getting ready for the Class of 2008. They had the USS Bret Harte almost ready to sail. The hard working parents & volunteers had assembled an entire cruise ship for the kids to enjoy. They could make a stop at 9 ports in all. The purpose of Sober Grad Night is to keep the teenagers in a safe and chemical free environment, while giving them a fun graduation party at the same time. There have been no deaths or seniors injured in a vehicle accident on graduation night, since this has started....
