Bear Valley, CA....Bear Valley Cross Country played host again this year to"Tom's Classic Cross Country Ski Race" on Saturday, April 5th. This is a very popular and fun filled day! This race is a 10K Classic Only (no ski skating) cross country ski race. Everyone seemed to enjoy the great spring skiing conditions by attending this fun race, which was open to all ages and abilities. We have the results enclosed....

Free Concerts To Continue This Summer Thanks to Calaveras Arts Council

Calaveras County, CA....Providing free music as a focal point for bringing people together as community is what the Calaveras Arts Council had in mind 17 years ago when it first presented its summer series of “Music in the Parks.” Once again, starting June 18 until August 20, the concerts will happen every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm in a different town park. These concerts have become one of the most popular on-going public summer events in the county....

Bear Valley,CA.....Mostly cloudy skies today with isolated snow showers this afternoon and tonight. This system is weak as it approaches the Sierra and we are not expecting much snowfall. Tomorrow thru the weekend will bring sunny skies. Don't forget, April is "Learn to Ski and Board" month offering huge discounts on lesson packages for the entire family! Full snow report enclosed....

Hello to all you fishermen, ready and eager to get fishing. Sierra stream fishing opens Saturday, April 26, 2008. Access to the Stanislaus River will be limited to Calaveras Big Trees State Park and Boards Crossing Road in Dorrington. The Gate to Beaver Creek through Sourgrass crossing should be open by then. NCPA anticipates having Spicer open by Memorial weekend, depending on the snowmelt and weather. For an update on the road to Spicer you can call 209-728-1387. Alpine still has quite a bit of snow around it. Hobart Creek is not open until JULY 1ST 2008!.....
