Murphys, CA...We are so fortunate to have The Murphys Community Club in Calaveras County....as they really know how to throw a party! They hosted the First of First Fridays for the Summer Season and it started off with a bang! The lovely Creekside Murphys Community Park was filled with locals, tourists and families enjoying a relaxing Summer evening. Dorian Faught, of the Historic Murphys Hotel served just under 200 wonderful dinners. Jazz and blues music was provided by James Faifua and the Jukes. It was the perfect Friday night....."Live" music, locals mingling, kids playing in the creek. We highly recommend this as a must do on the first Friday of the month. Brett road the 100 mile Sierra Century today and here is what he has to say about his Grand Adventure....."The roads of Calaveras County for the second year in a row were home – for at least 10 hours - to the Sacramento Wheelmen's coveted biking event, The Sierra Century. Three hundred seventy five of the riders participated in the 100-kilometer route, while the rest rode the nearly 100-mile course. Many riders on the 100-mile course finished in under 8 hours......
