Angels Camp, CA.....Often people forget that cheerleading is more than waving pom-poms and being energetic; cheerleading consists of team that trusts, honors, and encourages each other during a sport they know and love. The Bret Harte High School cheerleading squad faced a true hardship at the beginning of the year, when they couldn't practice or cheer do to the lack of a coach.....

Angels Camp, CA.....This afternoon over 60 people registered for the inaugural Nine Hole Scramble and Horse Race at Greenhorn Creek in Angels Camp. The new event is a fundraiser for the Calaveras Community Foundation. We spoke with J Shoop from the Calaveras Community Foundation and he shared, "we are excited to announce this event and we would like to make it an annual event." Each player donated $100 to play in the non-tournament, raising $6,000 just by entries......

Tickets Go On Sale November 10th for the Angels Holiday Home Tour!

Angels Camp, CA....The 4th Annual Angels Holiday Home Tour will take place on December 7th, noon to 4pm. The 4th Annual Angels Holiday Home Tour presents five Angels Camp area homes decorated for the holidays. Tickets will go on sale November 10, 2008 for $25 per person. Tickets will be available at the Calaveras County Visitor’s Center and Calaveras Lumber both in Angels Camp as well as the Angels Camp Library. All proceeds benefit the Angels Camp Library and are used to enhance services provided to the community. For more information contact Betty Sawyer at 209.736.6723.

Auditions for "101 Dalmations" Being Held on Saturday October 4th!

The Calaveras Children’s Repertory Theatre is holding auditions for children interested in being cast in the live play “101 Dalmatians” on Saturday, October 4, 2008 between 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Mark Twain Elementary School in Angels Camp. Experience is not required, and all children between the ages of 5 and 18, who audition will be cast in the play.....

Mokelumne Hill, CA....Local artists will be lining the narrow streets and lanes of tiny Mokelumne Hill (in Calaveras County) on Saturday, October 11. No, they’re not protesting; they’ll be painting “plein air” which means painting outdoors on the spot from an easel and a nearby set of paints. The public may walk, drive, park and watch how different artists spontaneously create works using the historic gold-mining backdrop of Mokelumne Hill as their subjects.....
