Burbank, CA...Disney•Pixar's "Cars 3" is hitting the road this month with Road to the Races, a nationwide tour inviting fans of #95 to gear up for the upcoming big-screen release. Life-size, character look-alikes of five-time Piston-Cup champion Lightning McQueen, tech-savvy trainer Cruz Ramirez and the sleek next-gen racer Jackson Storm will be rolling into 27 cities coast to coast to celebrate the new movie, which opens June 16, 2017.

Copperopolis, CA...In 1895 James A. Tower was only 16 years old when, using barbed wire fencing, he strung the first telephone line for what was to become The Calaveras Telephone Company. As demands for the telephone service increased, the young Mr. Tower found it necessary to establish a central office in the small community of Felix near the town of Copperopolis. Then in 1899, Mr. Tower, now 20 years old, negotiated an agreement with Sunset Telephone Company that would connect his subscribers by telephone with the rest of the world.

Main Street of our local Irish berg was filled to overflowing with residents and visitors alike as the 11am hour approached and entry after entry made their way down the parade route. Murphys, CA…After the parade crowd thinned out a bit we broke out our very high tech, and many would say drone like persona of a middle aged man with a camera on a stick. Our “drone” walked the entire Main Street to get you a 6-8ft high view of the festivities. No quadcopter here just an aching hip and a need of a snack when the “drone” made it to the other end of Main Street. Along the way we stopped a few times to get a few candid shots of the day and of course pipers, piping.
