White Pines, CA...This last Saturday morning local bikers that support the Trump & Pence ticket for President rode from Valley Springs to White Pines Park in the Arnold area. After the ride they had lunch and rallied for their cause. With almost no shot of Trump taking California some of their discussions were on how to help get out the vote in battleground states. Bear Valley, CA...We had the pleasure to spend a few minutes with Bear Valley's Director of Education & Exploration Aaron Johnson. As we speak they are installing the new Panda Carpet for this season. They are also rolling out the red carpet for all new hires for this year. They have been busy in the off season making loads of improvements to the hill and facilities. The aforementioned Panda Carpet replacement, New Snowcats, New Snowmaking equipment & one big improvement for those needing to stay connected on the slopes is a completely new wireless internet system with a new fiber optic connection to the resort. So now a much bigger pipe to share your pictures and videos of you on the slopes. So apply now for great positions and all the fun starts Thanksgiving weekend.

‘Trick or Treat Street At The Square’ Coming To Copperopolis October 31 |

Copperopolis, CA...Copperopolis Town Square – the Castle & Cooke California-owned events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in Calaveras County – will host its annual “Trick or Treat Street at the Square” on Monday, Oct. 31 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The free, family-friendly Halloween festivities are scheduled to include free candy and live music by The Kool Shifters. A costume contest will also be held with prizes awarded in four categories: Ages 1-4, Ages 5-8, Ages 9-12 and Adults. For those who wish to get a jump start on Holiday shopping, all Town Square stores will be open for business.

Come share "finger" food, "gutsy" fare, maybe some "feetloaf" - and dark libations in the glass. Then bring your scary story or poem to share at open mic. Bring a flashlight to put under your chin for an eerie twist. Scariest and creepiest tale or poem wins a prize.

Sierra Repertory Theatre Founders Announce Retirement After 37 Years |

Sonora, CA...Dennis and Sara Jones, who founded Sierra Repertory Theatre 37 years ago, met recently with the Board of Trustees to announce their retirement. They will remain at the helm for the next nine months and plan to transition the leadership of SRT to Artistic Director Scott Viets as of August 1, 2017. Viets has been SRT’s Artistic Director for the past 14 years and is familiar to audiences as a director, choreographer and actor, most recently starring in The Drowsy Chaperone. Becky Saunders, a guest performer, stage manager and director with SRT since 1994, joins the staff in April, 2017 and will become Managing Director as of August 1, 2017.
