What Are Your Thoughts on the Democratic National Convention and Speeches So Far?

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/26/2008 11:06 PM
Denver, CO....The Democratic National Convention started last evening. Tonights Theme was " Renewing America’s Promise." "Millions of Americans are struggling to get by. The failed policies of the last eight years have betrayed the country’s values and left an economy out of balance. Barack Obama believes a strong economy is unattainable with a weak middle class. Tuesday’s Convention program will feature the voices of Americans who share Barack’s concerns and strongly support his detailed economic plan to grow the economy, create jobs, restore fairness, and expand opportunity." We have links below to some of tonight's speeches. We strongly encourage you to take the time to discuss the convention and speeches so far in our open comment section.....

President Bush Discussed Iraq Yesterday

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/01/2008 08:32 AM
Washington, DC...Good morning. This has been a month of encouraging news from Iraq. Violence is down to its lowest level since the spring of 2004, and we're now in our third consecutive month with reduced violence levels holding steady. General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker caution that the progress is still reversible, but they report that there now appears to be a "degree of durability" to the gains we have made....

A Cold Night for Missing Snowboarder Jerad Gerlach~By John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/25/2008 10:30 AM
Bear Valley, CA...We just spoke with rescued Santa Cruz area snowboarder, Jerad Gerlach. As Jerad was trying to hike out last night he was caught in two small avalanches and spent the night out in the storm last evening. He lost his snowboard in one of the avalanches that occurred. He then let go of his board when an avalanche started pulling him and his board under. He was then able to keep himself above the surface. After the avalanches Jerad decided to stop trying to hike out and dug a snow cave to ride out the night....

Jerad is posing above with his friends and family. Jerad is the young man in the tan coat in the middle giving a big thumbs up. The picture on the right is the missing person's notice that was placed on Jerads truck.
