Sonora Bach Festival Final event “Bach’s Brunch” With Concert Featuring Sonora Bach Festival T
Sonora, CA...The Sonora Bach Festival will present a “Bach’s Brunch” featuring the Sonora Bach Festival Trio and the food of Chef Dave Ingram, on Sunday, October 30th, at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Church in Sugar Pine. Tickets are $35 presale and $45 after October 26th and are available online at sonorabach.org or by calling 209 536-6330.


The final fall event of the Sonora Bach Festival will be a brunch with live, classical music. The festival, celebrating its 46th year, will conclude its 2022 presentations with music provided by the Sonora Bach Festival Trio and food by Chef Dave Ingram.

Diane Wright, Bach Festival Executive Director, said, “The event will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in the midst of the pines. The hall, itself, looks out on the trees providing a beautiful view for the brunch and a lovely atmosphere for the Music”. Mt. Calvary is located at 24176 Pine Lake Dr. Sugar Pine,

The Sonora Bach Festival Trio is made up of Janet Telford, flute; Sandra Betti, Flute; and Alice Williams, Cello. All the players, who are local, bring extensive experience as ensemble and solo players. Sandra Betti, flute, holds a Bachelors Degree in music and has studied flute with Paul Renzi and Leone Buyse. She has been a member of the U.C. Berkeley Symphony, The Artesian Pops Orchestra, Amador Concert Band, and the Mother Lode Brass and Reed Band. As a soloist, she has played on The Motherlode Friends of Music Concert Series, The St. James Concert Series and most recently was presented with Guitarist, Larry Ferrara. at the Sonora Bach Festival and at The Old First Church in San Francisco.

Janet Telford holds degrees in music from San Francisco State and Penn State. As a flautist and oboist, Telford has performed as a soloist on the St. James Concert Series and with the Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra. As an ensemble player, Janet has been a member of The Mother Lode Brass and Reed Band, The Mother Lode Friends of Music Orchestra, The Mother Lode Woodwind Quintet, and 17 years as a member of the woodwind quintet Quorum Ventorum.

Alice Williams, cellist, holds a degree from Stetson University and has done post-graduate work at Indiana University and Georgia State. She has been a member of the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, the DeKalb Symphony, The Metropolitan String Quartet, and The Atlanta Pops. Alice has performed at many churches and has accompanied a range of musical artists including Moody Blues to John Denver. Locally, she has played in The Mother Lode Friends of Music chamber Ensembles, and The Columbia College Community Chorus Orchestra.

The musical program draws from the Baroque and Classical eras and includes, among others, The Canonic Trio by Bach; London Trio No. 1 by Haydn; Concerto in G Minor by Vivaldi; and Entrance of the Queen of Sheba by Handel.

Telford, long-time member of the Trio (and also festival board member) said, "The trio is honored to play for the 2022 Sonora Bach Festival.  It is a delight to share this wonderful music with other music-lovers."

The Brunch will include a variety of dishes from sweet to savory from multiple regions including the Mediterranean, France and the United States.

“The menu definitely has an international vibe to it. There will be a variety of tastes and something for everyone”, said Chef Dave Ingram.

Dave has over 40 years of experience in bakeries, delis, fine dining establishments, a hotel, and a convention center. Locally, he has worked in the kitchens of the Black Oak Casino and the Sonora Inn. His past clients include The Sonora Area Foundation, the Kiwanis Club, Horse Rescue, Humane Society. As a owner of his business Chef Dave Cooks, he has catered many private events including weddings, birthdays, memorials, and anniversaries.

The Menu for Sunday is: Blueberry – Banana Bread; Fresh Fruit Salad with honey-yogurt dressing; Greek Quinoa Salad with pickled tofu & balsamic vinaigrette; Asparagus, Kalamata Olive, and Feta Frittata; Falafel Patties; Roasted Red Potatoes with lemons, mustard seed, olive oil; Chicken Paleo Hash; Vegan Creole Gumbo with black eyed peas; Roasted Sweet Potatoes with fresh turmeric, ginger, & pistachios; Spiced Moroccan Carrots; Almond Cookies; Coconut Macaroons; and Fruit & Granola Crisp.

Diane Wright, said, “We have had a wonderful set of concerts this fall. Being back after Covid has been everything we hoped it would be. This final event should be a delightful conclusion to the festival”.
