Free Museum Admission in December
The Calaveras County Historical Society invites guests to tour the museum for free for the month of December. Our Downtown Museum is located at 30 N. Main Street, San Andreas and is open daily 10-4. The Red Barn Museum is open Thursday - Sunday 10-4.

Petroglyphe Gallery Christmas Reception: December 16, 5-8 pm, Mokelumne Hill
Celebrate the spirit of the season at Petroglyphe Gallery’s Annual Christmas Reception on Sunday, December 16 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm when the works of over 27 artists will be illuminated by a festive holiday atmosphere. Enjoy wine and light appetizers as you discover the wide range of art that the gallery has to inspire your gift-giving this season. Visit with many of the gallery’s artists, listen to the live music of jazz guitarist Herb Boxhorn, and embrace the warmth of small town Christmas spirit.
Located at 8317 Main Street in historic Mokelumne Hill, Petroglyphe Gallery is looking forward to participating in the town’s holiday festivities. The gallery recently celebrated their first anniversary and is quickly becoming a cornerstone of revitalization in their newly restored 1858 gallery space. In addition to works in oil, acrylic, and watercolor, the gallery also offers art glass, ceramics, bronze sculptures, miniature clay creations, copper vessels, cards, and handcrafted jewelry. With so many choices, there is something for everyone at Petroglyphe Gallery!
