05:00 PM - 07:00 PM Help Make Murphys a Safer Place to Walk & Bike...Murphys Complete Streets Meeting on April 25th
Murphys, CA...On Wednesday, April 25, the public is invited to attend the first workshop for the Murphys Complete Streets Plan. The project is a cooperative effort between Calaveras County, the Calaveras Council of Governments, and Caltrans to develop a plan for the Highway 4 corridor through Murphys. Based on close coordination and input from the community, the plan will identify and prioritize improvements to provide safe connectivity along the corridor by all modes, including walking and biking.

Murphys Complete Streets Project Boundary

The workshop will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Old School House, located at 65 Jones Street in Murphys. The workshop will begin with an introduction to the project, followed by walking and biking tours along several routes to discuss issues and opportunities in the field. The workshop will conclude with a small group exercise and large group discussion about potential improvements. Input from the workshop will be used to develop conceptual design alternatives for various improvements, which will be discussed at a subsequent workshop in June.
