May 27th, 2017 at Ironstone Vineyards, Murphys
Calaveras Door of Hope is hosting a Fun Run on May 27, 2017 at Ironstone vineyards. The Heroes Fun Run offers a 5k and 10k run, or a 2 mile walk. The 5/10k run starts at 8:30 a.m. (registration open at 7:45 a.m.); 2 mile walk at 10:00 a.m. (registration at 9:00 a.m.). 100% of funds raised will go to the non-profit organization Calaveras Door of Hope. Tee shirts, etc. to runners. Preregister at www.support4life.info (events tab) or call (209)736-9600. Requested entry donation is $30 for run and $20 for walk.

Murphys, CA...Calaveras Door of Hope is hosting a Fun Run and Family Day on May 27, 2017. The Heroes Fun Run will be located at Ironstone Vineyards’ Amphitheatre. The Heroes Fun Run offers three options to participate in: a 5k run, 10k run, or a 2 mile walk. There will also be a party in the park with: Live music by Dyemusica, silent auction, raffle prizes, games and activities for kids of all ages. Food will be available for purchase on the grounds. Families are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets and enjoy the day. No outside food or drinks, please. Family Fun Day hours are from 9 AM – 2 PM. Admission is free. The 5k/10k run will start at 8:30 a.m. (registration at 7:45 a.m.); The 2 mile walk will start at 10:00 a.m. (registration at 9:00 a.m.).

Calaveras Door of Hope Pregnancy Center’s purpose is to serve women and their families in our community by offering hope and help both during and after pregnancy. Calaveras Door of Hope’s services include: free pregnancy tests, peer counseling, parenting classes and many other resources.

Twain Harte, CA...Join the Twain Harte Area Chamber for their first Memorial Day Weekend Chili Cook-Off! This event will be held in Meadow Plaza in Twain Harte on Saturday, May 27, from 9 am to 3 pm with kids’ activities at the nearby park.


Chili chefs should go to the Chamber website – www.twainhartecc.com – and pick up the application or call the chamber office at 209-586-4482. Cooking will start at 8 am with tasting beginning at 11:30 am. The chamber is also seeking vendors who wish to have booths at the event. Chamber members pay $12.50 and non-members booths are $25. Call the chamber to reserve your booth – or email the chamber at info@twainhartecc.com.

The 39th Annual Spring Peddler’s Fair will be held over Memorial Day weekend, May 27 & 28, in the beautiful mountain resort town of Arnold on Highway 4 (Ebbett’s Pass). Situated amongst the pines and redwoods at the 4000' elevation, the Peddler’s Faire features about 70 booths: Antiques, collectibles, original art & crafts, gourmet foods, & vintage jewelry are just a few of the range of items offered. Whether you’re shopping for yourself, for your home or cabin, or your next camping trip, you’ll be sure to find it here!

The Ebbett’s Pass Volunteer Fire Dptm. serves local beers, along with home-made food booths, kettlekorn, and baked goodies. There will be face painting for the kids – and adult kids! The Arnold Lion’s Club holds an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast of ham, eggs, & pancakes both days from 8am – 11am for just $8.

The Peddler’s Fair is held from 9am - 4pm in downtown Arnold on the park-like grounds of Bristol’s Ranch House Café. (Physical address for Google Maps, GPS, etc. is 961 Highway 4, Arnold, CA)

It’s free for everyone, so come enjoy the fun and maybe find that treasure you’ve been searching for!

White Pines, CA...The Flea Market is our only fundraiser for the year. The proceeds provide for maintenance of the building and grounds. It is always held on the first full weekend in August. Donations to the Flea Market are accepted all year.

Independence Hall Community Center - History

Independence Hall Community Center, Arnold, California, was officially established in 1974. From its inception, the Hall has served as a non-profit, non-tax-supported community facility for the Ebbetts Pass area. Originally, the Hall was the Avery School, a one-room elementary school with a divider creating two classrooms.

The attendance area extended along California Highway 4 from Camp Connell nearly to Murphys. The first function to be held in the building was a school Christmas program in December, 1941. The school was rededicated in 1964 as Hazel Fisher Elementary School in honor of its first principal and teacher, Miss Hazel Fisher. Following construction of a new Hazel Fisher Elementary School, the original building was signed over to the Ebbetts Pass Wonderland Association and in recognition of our nation’s bicentennial was renamed Independence Hall. The Hall was dedicated and remains this area’s community center.

Murphys, CA...Ironstone Vineyards presents a Silent Movie Production of Alice in Wonderland (1915). We'll have Organist Dave Moreno playing the Alhambra Pipe Organ. Buffet dinner, popcorn during the movie, and wine available for purchase. Doors open at 6pm, dinner at 6:30pm, movie at 7:30pm.
