Calaveras County Democratic Central Committee Elects New Officers for 2009-2010

At the regular meeting of the Calaveras County Democratic Central Committee (CCDCC) held on Thursday, December 11, members elected officers to serve in 2009. In addition, three new CCDCC members were voted in and will be sworn in at the January 8 meeting. The new officers, those who form the Executive Committee, are Tillman Sherman, Chair; Margaret Copenhaver, Vice-Chair; Sharon Romano, Treasurer; and Tami Chesnut, Member-at-Large. The new members voted in are Ginger Griffin, District 2; Barry Griffin, District 2 Alternate; and Billie McArthur, District 4.....

"Everything is really coming together for Democrats in Calaveras County," stated Sherman. He went on to say, "It's a great time to be a Democrat, and I'm excited by the energy and direction we are going in the county. There's a long way to go, and we need more people to get involved to truly be successful."
The Central Committee is working on a revitalization plan to reach out and engage all segments of the community. It will be identifying those leaders who are ready to step up to make sure all the citizens of Calaveras County are represented and heard.
In the process, the Central Committee will also be looking for Democrats to fill positions on Special District Boards, Commissions, and even future Supervisor seats. Training, support, and encouragement will be available to those who are interested.

Change is coming - especially in Calaveras County. If you would like to be a part of it, please contact the CCDCC at info@calaverasdemocrats.org or call (209) 559-2672. CCDCC meetings are held the second Thursday of each month, 6:30 pm at the Supervisors’ Chambers, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas.
