Spicing Up Calaveras Nightlife~By Andrea Silva

Murphys, CA....The Growler Craft Brewery in Murphys has been hosting a string of local musicians this fall with concerts ranging from Jazz Bands to Classic Rock Bands, in an attempt to spice up area nightlife. The Brewery is a family oriented venue that encourages people of all ages to dine and enjoy live music. However, after about 9 pm the kids go home and the brewery turns into a more pub-like atmosphere where local musicians are able to try out original songs on a fun loving and relaxed crowd.....

Last Saturday evening the Brewery hosted a free concert featuring Johnny Older 111. Johnny's family and friends were on hand to cheer him on in his first official on-stage appearance.

The Headlining act was Singer and Guitar Soloist Adam Rodgers, who played an eclectic mix of everything from Rodney Carrington to Greenday. Adam engaged the crowd, by encouraging them to sing along to popular covers songs. The Singer also got the group rolling with laughter as he used his improvisation skills to create humorous songs about the audience members and the Brewery. The laid back crowd was not afraid to chime in with a little harmless heckling and boisterous musical requests.

Adding to evening was an appearance by the Gold Strike Girls, a group of beautiful local pin-up models, who help promote area businesses. The Growler Craft Brewery will be hosting live musical events weekly; you may get more information by calling 209-728-1162.
