Missing Aircraft has Been Located in Wallace Area Near Lake Camanche (Official Sheriffs Press Release Now Enclosed)
Wallace, CA....We just spoke with Director of Calaveras County OES, Captain Clay Hawkins, they have apparently located the aircraft wreckage. The location of the plane is about 50 feet from Lake Camanche shoreline in the Camanche Parkway area.....

The presumed pilot was also found in the wreckage. Our thoughts and prayers are with the pilot's family at this time.
The plane was believed to be piloted by piloted by Wally Boeck from Rancho Murieta. Mr. Boeck was a well known pilot and was followed by a friend when they took off from the Rancho Murieta airport yesterday.
Mr. Boeck served in the Marine's for 20 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel Test Pilot. He was also a partner in Boeck and Associates a business consulting company. His profile from his site is below:

The plane according to witnesses was seen flying erratically and the pilot was seen slumped over the controls.

Summary of the Incident
This morning at approximately 1000 hrs., the light aircraft that was reported missing and last seen in the Lake Camanche area of Calaveras County was found. The wreckage was discovered by search personnel on the southern
shoreline of Lake Camanche near Highway 12 & Camanche Parkway. The crash site was spread over a considerable distance. One fatality was confirmed.
Investigators from the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office have secured the
scene and are awaiting arrival of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Once the FAA is on-scene, a joint FAA and Sheriff's Office investigation of the
crash site wil take place.
The search for the missing aircraft began last evening at 1700 hours following
several eye witness reports of an aircraft that was seen descending over the
southern portion of the Lake Camanche area. After receiving the reports, the
Calaveras County Sheriff's Office dispatched several patrol units, the Search &
Rescue Team, and two (2) patrol boats from the Department's Marine Safety
Unit to coordinate a search of the area. Agencies who provided assistance
during the incident included aircraft from the California Highway Patrol, patrol
units from the East Bay Municipal Utility District, San Joaquin and Amador
County Sheriff's Offices, and engines from Cal Fire, Foothill, Jenny Lind, and
surrounding area fire departments.
