Copper Town Square Raises Funds for Copperopolis Elementary School Thursday Eve at Their Scarecrow Auction and Spaghetti Feed!

Copperopolis, CA....The Copperopolis Town Square did it again tonight....They came together for Copperopolis Elementary School and held a wonderful fundraiser with their First Annual Scarecrow Auction and Spaghetti Feed. Each class at Copperopolis Elementary participated in the making of a scarecrow to be auctioned off at this evenings event. The scarecrows are on display in the merchants windows and will remain there until November 1st with each winning bidders name on them....

There were 12 scarecrows in all....There was "The Dog", by Mrs. Lundin's Kindergarten Class and Artist Regina Smith. The "Bret Harte Soccer Player" by Ms. Vail's K/1 Class with artist Nicole Allen. "The Artist" by Mrs. DeSimones 1st Grade Class with artists, Andrea Caywood and Maggie Rollins. "The boy Gardener" by Mrs.Eaves 1st Grade Class and artist Tracey Snook. "The girl Gardener" by Mrs. Aardel's 2nd Grade Class with artists, Aurora Qualls and Mareny Mercado. "Jack Skeleton" by Mrs. Pino's 2nd Grade Class with artist Jessica Welch. "The Fall/Couger Skeleton" by Mrs. Young's 3rd Grade Class with artist Isabelle Meyer. "The Miner" by Mrs. Bauer's 3rd Grade Class and artist Michelle Worthly. "The Bullfrog" by Mrs. Milbridges 4th Grade Class and Chantay Garcia as artist. "Prinicipal, Mrs. Tidball" by Mrs. Tutthill's 4/5 Grade Class and Tasha Westberg as their artist. "The Rocker" by Mrs. Hessels' 5/6 Grade Class and Tara Pfeifier as artist. And last but not least, "The Scary Skateboarder" by Mrs. Belcher's 6th Grade Class and Karen Tafjen as artist.

The scarecrow auction brought in an average of $100 for each entry. The total evening with food and scarecrows brought in approximately $2,200.00

Panini's Grill was on hand serving spaghetti and garlic bread dinners to go for everyone. They are scheduled to open near Thanksgiving.

We have to commend Linda Stevanick and her crew for putting together a wonderful Harvest Season for our community and also for the youth to enjoy, as the entire month of October has been dedicated to Copperopolis Elementary School.

The Pumpkin Junction which continues until October 31st for your pumpkin and pumpkin goody items.

This Saturday, October 25th at 3pm, the Copper Town Square will host their First Annual Costume Parade starting at 3pm. COSTUME PARADE & CONTEST FOR ALL AGES on Saturday October 25th at 3pm.

IF YOU WANT TO MARCH IN THE PARADE YOU WILL NEED TO LINE UP BEHIND THE TOWN HALL AT 2:00 TO BE JUDGED

If you have a special vehicle, or float, please call Linda Stefanickt to arrange your line up area. We welcome all entries, 785-9700.

COME TO TOWN SQUARE AND WATCH OUR FIRST COSTUME PARADE! Bring a chair or just take a seat on the grass. We will have games to play and some other contests to get you in the spirit of Halloween. Everyone from tiny tots to ghoulish grandmas and grandpas will get a chance to show of their best Halloween attire at the Trick or Treat Street Parade. The contest is divided into four age categories:0-5, 6-9, 10-13, and 14-adult as well as a category for dogs. A panel of local real estate agents will judge the costumes.
Awards will be given in the gazebo following the parade.

FRIGHT NIGHT MOVIE - OCTOBER 30TH...7:30pm following Music in the Parks. (we will start the music at 5:30)To get you ready for Halloween. "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" Bring your chairs and blankets to Town Square and have some old fashioned family fun. Parks and Rec is putting on the show and will be selling movie munchies for your viewing pleasure!

TRICK OR TREAT STREET HALLOWEEN NIGHT ~ OCT 31ST...The local community has come together to provide a fun place for our kids to trick or treat. The windows are decorated and each participant will be here with their treats 5 pm to 8pm on Halloween!

Beginning Oct 11th you will be able to stroll the streets and vote on your favorite decorations. Awards will be given out after the parade on Oct 25th. Come and preview the great efforts from your community leaders!

"The Jukes" will be here in costume to perform beginning at 7pm to entertain the adult goblins and ghosts. So come enjoy the spirit of Halloween in costume if you dare. Wine and beer will be available for sale.
